Mistletoe Monday
This is the time of the year, that 'stars' are recognized for their achievements over time...in DC, at the Kennedy Center...one such recipient this year, is Linda Ronstadt...who was one of my era's best singers...in her acceptance speech, had some choice words for the present regime in the White House...doubt if they will play this, ha ha...anyhoo...they have people sing some of their hits...remember Adam Lambert's version of a Cher song last year?...haunting...so, this time around, the singer is Carrie...the report is that it was unbelievable...the broadcast will be next week...sounds like a show that one can't miss...
More NFL drama...I have no dog in the fight, so to speak...as the NE Pats hosted the KC Chiefs...two really good teams...dang if it didn't come down to a defensive stop inside the red zone by KC...unfortunately, it was marred by more inept officiating in that league...a TD by NE was not allowed, but on replay it clearly was...two of their guys, staring right at...called the player out of bounds...however, the 'rules' don't allow a look at it by replay...give me a break...you have the technology, USE IT!...makes you wonder about it all...the amounts of cash bet on these games...
The bowl games are all set...the Rose has the Ducks facing the Badgers of Wisconsin...surprised me, as I thought that it would be Penn. St, for sure...ah, the early line has Wisc by 3....good lawdy, take that and bet a bundle...then there is SDSU...playing Central Michigan...in the New Mexico Bowl...Dec 21...get this, it is the Aztecs 10th straight bowl appearance...for youse San Diegans....the Holiday Bowl has the USC Trojans versus the Iowa Hawkeyes...Dec 27...
Finally finished 'The Irishman'...let's just say, it was way over-hyped...3 and 1/2 hours...the 'drama' was a bit much...the last hour was a waste, in my estimation...tell me what you think...I give it a C-...and that is being kind...
The NBA...this season could be a laugher...as there is no one challenging the Lake Show...maybe the Clip Joint...or the Beard...but...NOBODY else has a bloody chance...they mauled the TWolves last eve...and, to continue this pattern, PDX lost again...this time to the Thunder (Sooopersonics)...
Sports in general...Russia has been banned from the upcoming Olympics...doping...oh my...and this next is a doozy...for all you hackers out there...Captain America, er, Patrick Reed, of the PGA...committed a snafu in the latest T in the Bahamas...bunkered down, hit the sand on his takeaway...a no no...and didn't penalize himself...but, replays clearly got him...take note NFL...was assessed a 2 shot penalty...well now, the Golfing People have had enough of his shenanigans...as the President's Cup looms this week in Australia...he is one of the members of the USA Team...word out, is that the Aussies are going to be ruthless towards the bloke...that country is a big golfing loving nation...drama?...
Would this bother you?...so many rumors out...that Teerump is going to pardon all his compatriots that were indicted and found guilty of whatever...well, everyone but Cohen...ha ha...would this be a slap in the judicial system?...hey, I keep waiting for the final straw...when the Repubs finally say enough is enough...and they turn on him...will happen...
