The Hoopdom in LaLa Land

Heeeyyyyoooo!!!...if you are a hoop junkie, then the start up for the NBA season last nite, was a beaut...and quite satisfying...as the Lake Show and the Clip Joint went at it at Staples...their joint venture of cohabitating in the same building...well now, the NFL LaLa teams will try that next season, too,  at the old Hollywood Park...egads, both of the secondary teams were from....damn it all...San Diego...I digress...and, just like in football, the transplanted SD Clips are the less welcomed team in the area...big time diff...

Back to the game...the now senior in the basketball world, LeBron James, was to lead the newly stocked Lakers to the title...many of the NBA pundits have given him (them) the preseason accolade...not only new players, but a totally fresh coaching staff...I mean, c'mon, who will beat 'em?...well, just look in  the other locker room...as the Clippers handled them quite nicely, kids...somehow, forgotten in the prognostications, is that the best player on the planet plays for THAT team...Kawhi Leonard...who destroyed the Lake Show...this was without their other REAL star in the league, Paul George, who is nursing an injury for a bit...

Now I know there are those of you out there saying, calm down Horse...it is but one game...true dat...but Carnac sees more...most of the Clips are returning...and they play HARD!...terrific D...which is uncommon for the league...and the LeBron team?...many new parts that will take time to gel...my take is that they may be too kool for school...and listen staff, get James out of the PG role all the time...waste of a talent...

In the other round ball world...the momentum keeps right on a chugging...as the Nats beat the Astros in Houston...Game 1 is Washington's...in the World Series...fun game...with many opps, and great pitching...one sidelight, was that I didn't care much for the strike zone that that zebra had...Verlander goes today against SDSU product Stephen Strasburg...right?...a thought for ya'll...with Scherzer and Verlander on the same staff in Detroit, how did they NOT dominate?...

Hmmm, back in DC, totally unrelated to beisbol, was the latest of people in line to testify in front of Congress...Bill Taylor...ambassador...at least for now...who destroyed any notion of derailment of the impeachment...it's now just a matter of time...quid pro quo...it almost seemed like quid amateur quo...stupidity at the highest level...

Oh man, I read that Hillary was a thinking about getting into the race...'if she thought she could win'...please please please, Ms Clinton, stay clear of this...your time is over...

I know this is brief...golf is a beckoning moi...we are in an unbelievable heat wave down here in SoCal...86* yesterday, which was the hottest day of the year...what?...add 10* for Singing Hills, and I am gonna roast...plenty of agua...straw hat and loose fitting clothes...and some cool down cigars...think I am set...
