I Feel The Earth Move

'I feel the earth move, under my feet'...line from the epic song by Carole King...hold so true on yet another of them dang earthquakes...as our condo, swayed, creaked, and absorbed the shock...the elevators, all 4 of them, automatically, shut down...hopefully, with no one aboard...this last eve, about 8:20...as I was watching the Pads/Bums beisbol game on the tele...the crack announcing team of Don and Mudcat, called it right out...as the cameras were swaying and jiggling, too...the same effect hit us...the game was in LA, and we are down here in SD...

It was a 7.1 reading!...the epicenter was close to the one earlier in the week...imagine, what those folks are going thru...in the condo, we could hear creaking in the building, which is mighty eerie, kids...the lights were swaying...and the vertical living people were all out on their balconies...looking at others...it lasted about 30 to 45 seconds...something like that...as one of my Facebook friends stated, 'come back to Oregon!'...my reply, was 'no shit'...

It's been 10 years since we have had this big of a quake...as many people have said, that we are in the land of them...thing is, they go on everywhere...even in Oregon, my good friends...maybe a good song to use is 'Shake, Rattle, and Roll' made famous by Bill Haley and His Comets...ah, really, it was first recorded by Big Joe Turner...even weirder was that the song was written by Charles E. Calhoun...wait, that was a pseudonym for Jesse Stone...what?...TMI...

Back to the ball game...as the mighty Padres did get the W in the quake game...as Hunter Renfroe hit a dinger in the 8th to go ahead, and the closer Kirby Yates got FIVE outs to finish it up...any win in LaLa land is a good un....hey, a snarky move by the All Star National League Mgr, of them Bums...picked another of his team to replace an injured lad...boo...there are 3 Padres that should have been chosen over that bloke...boooo....

Speaking of shaking thangs up...Kawhi Leonard just announced where he was lacing up his tennies next season...with the Clip Joint of LA...Paul George be joining him...and NOW, we have another battle of Los Angeles...who might be better, the Clips or the Lakers?...I like it...as you are aware, I think that LeBron is on the down side of his career...not easy to play with (some say, for)...as it gets worse as you age, kids...still...it does add some life to the west...oh yea, does that make Toronto, one and done?...prob...

Your guy Trump, is so exhausted that he is going on a 3 day hiatus...golfing...at the sweet sound of $102 million bucks to the taxpayer...really?...travel, security, and loads of extra balls...that figure is accumulative since he got into office...'fore left?'...wait, no...has to be 'fore right'....

To celebrate our good health, I am taking the bride to a romantic din din over at Eddie V's...tonight...good gawd, it's been 9 days of hell...
