Tuesday Tidbits

The lead story EVERYWHERE is the fire at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris...or, was, as it is out, now...and the word is, the walls have been saved...countless amounts of money have come in, to help rebuild the structure...800 years of history in its making...for sure, so much involved...never been there, as there are not enough flight pills to get me there...but, so many people have shared their pix of them being there at some time in their lives...the source of the fire?...have not heard yet....

These NBA playoffs can turn weird very quickly...none more so, than the Warriors and the Clip Joint...as GS was prancing around, leading by 31 early in the 3rd stanza...HC Kerr pulled his starters, TOO SOON...and that let LA back in the game...insomuch, to change the momentum...big time...as the Clippers were and are relentless...got REAL physical...which is the achilles heal to the Warriors...shoved them around...and, the Clips won at the buzzer...you see, the Horse has been saying all season, that the Warriors will NOT repeat...another example of...

One of my afternoon screamer sports shows, Around The Horn, used most of their 30 minutes discussing the Tiger win at the Masters...showed countless clips of the pundits saying that 'no way' would he win there, and in many cases, ever again...fun, watching the 'experts' having to eat their words...

My Padres...lost game 1 at home last eve...hosting Buddy Black's Rockies....who had been floundering...beisbol...so many games, and is so different each and every day...hmmm...

Your guy Trump just tweeted this...'no collusion, no obstruction'...just in case you were wondering...didn't Nixon do the same?... but his venue was the TV...'I am not a crook'...

Rumor has it that Trump sent his, er, our, USA money for the rebuild fund for the Cathedral to South Bend, Indiana...

For all of us in the time tunnel...the one and only, 'Charlies Angels' is being redone, again...Bosley and the 3 gal detectives...ah, was redone like 15 years ago...poorly...and this one?...well...there is but one Farrah Fawcett....just like in the countless Bond flicks, there was only one Sean Connery...all else failed to compare...

Just a thought or two on this...these country music award shows...all of them...basically, disregard the elder singers and groups of yesteryear...many are still touring...and are so good...Martina, Sara, Lee Ann...Brooks and Dunn...what about Reba?...the list goes on and on...Alan Jackson...bring them back and hear what REAL country music should, or did, sound like...enough of the likes of Miranda Lambert, which is all fluff and no substance...you dig?...

There is a top 10 guy on Idol, that rivals the likes of Freddy Mercury...take a peek at it...and you will see...that good...

The Futures were significantly up this am...so, you day traders...go for it...

What's YOUR price for a gallon of gas in your area?...I saw $4.39 for regular yesterday....egads....

Finally...think about this...Donny barricades himself in a bunker...spends all his time fending off people attacking him....by the newspapers, the pixels, and social media...he responds to them all...instead of climbing out and LEADING the country...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
