The Art of the Flop

Professional hoops has brought about a totally different way of playing the game...the long ball...the shot that is worth 3 points...along with it, are methods of shooting the rock, with screens that make the effort unencumbered...(BTW, try to spell that one, without looking it up)...picks...the player comes off of the screens and has a free range of motion to launch the three ball...

Yes, the game has become more of a 2 man game...with blokes sitting in the corners waiting to shoot their own 3...if their defender has the audacity to go help the others...and then you have the roamer...the dude who can't shoot, but does everything else...like rebound the rock...er, somebody has to be near the basket...

So, the zebras have a totally new task at hand...and it is EASIER...they carefully watch the screener...if any movement at all, it is called an offensive foul...good lord, in times past, there has been so little of this call...and the other thang they watch for...I mean, what else is there?...the foul on the shooter....remind you all, it is quite the foul...gives the launcher THREE free throws...think about that, 3 times the amount of a TECHNICAL FOUL!...

Thus, the blokes who do the shooting, have now perfected the FLOP!...the action that makes it appear that the defender has 'touched' him in the motion of shooting...no bigger flopper than the probable MVP of the NBA this season, James (the Beard) Harden...flails like he has been mauled...spreads out on the floor like a wounded duck...and, sure, he gets the call, lots...if he doesn't?...complains to the refs about how he is getting hit, and they are robbing him...oh my....

I have said this before, but the 3 ball has ruined the beauty of the game....the 2 man game has traversed itself to the college ranks, and, even to the high schools...GONE is the 5 man rotation that signified the actual peach of the sport...maybe, it is more exciting for the fans...I dunno...but, gosh, I miss the idea that all 5 people touch the ball in the offense...

Other...

The mighty Pads lost their last game in DC...up 6 runs, and gave them all back...ha ha...I call this managerial error...as Mgr Green stayed with his starting pitcher too long...lost the momentum of the game...yea, I want too much....anyhoo, off to Atlanta for another set...remember when the 'Braves' were the only team on nationally?...TNT or TBS...got to see MLB all the time...in Orygun...alas, STILL no Major League team in PDX...

Lindsey Graham...the Repub Senator...and avid Trump supporter...let this beaut out yesterday, 'Trump, unlike Bill Clinton, did nothing wrong, to warrant impeachment'...

The Kentucky Derby is this coming weekend...still on me bucket list...hmmm, I have never been in Kentucky, either...starting to look over the entries...Omaha Beach, will probably be the top choice...Baffert has a couple worth looking at, too...hasn't he won like 5 times?...something like that...

Idol...the public has whittled down the contestants to the Top 6...really, kids, there are 3 that are the elite...but, you never know how the voting actually goes...Lacy, Laine, or Jeremiah (hands down, the best)...I digress...and...Adam Lambert was the analyst for this program...Queen...and he was awesome...I assume he is going to sing tonight...

Think that Taylor Swift is NOT the pop queen of the decade?...56 million hits on YouTube for 'Me' in just 24 hours...man, there is no competition out there, either...

Rain out in El Cajon this morning...so, am passing on the hacking today....suspend the fun time of me life...until Wednesday...

The inevitable happened yesterday...we bought the RV...Class B...Winnebago...it is EXACTLY what we wanted...thus, it is done...now, the rest of the story...planning our first trip...KOA, Good Sam Club, State Parks?...so much to learn...what do we store in the RV...ah, we have to give it a name...c'mon...any ideas out there?...

Off we will venture up north...first stop at the kids...then mosey on to Orygun...this will be a real test for us...a lot of stuff to bone up on...right?...the adventure...

It's just Monday...
