American Idol

It's been 15 years, or so, since the first US phone in music show aired...unfound talented people singing for their chance at becoming 'famous'...American Idol...Kelly Clarkson was the inaugural winner...and the series took off...over the years, the judges changed, however, the format of 3 remained the same...they tweaked the influence of the three, too...giving them a 'second chance' option, in case the voting public made a 'mistake'...I call it the Pia Toscana Rule...many of the winners finished where they started, obscure..it's a tough business, the music field...

I am digging the return of these 3 judges...Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan...they do a fine job...egads, I do hate the word, fine...so, let's abridge that with funky...yes, that's better...and man oh man, has Ryan Secrest made a name for himself from this show...right?...

The best of the best is Carrie Underwood...who blossomed into a great in the country world...there have been others that have been OK...anyway, the production has gotten remarkably better this year...there have been 3 shows shown thus far...and believe it or not...there are some really, really, good singers in this year...one thing, that has changed, is that the show is not airing the real bad auditions...TG...BUT...it still uses the popular vote, from the web net, telephone, without ever showing the numbers of...I don't get why not...if you are not following it, you are missing a good one...

Some political stuff now...Nancy Pelosi remarked that she favors not seeking 'impeachment' on Donald Trump...'it's a waste of time on him'...so, what's behind that?...I don't think she says anything off the cuff...like Donny does...I have 2 probable answers...the first is, she is being honest...that the impending release of the Mueller Report doesn't have enough mustard to take the dog down...bracing the rest of the Demos for the disappointing 2 years of research...to get on with electing a viable candidate to replace him...OR...the second is, she is being coy...trying to get into his head, that the Demos are backing off, and thus, he will relax his all out defense he has been setting up...in other words, draining the moat...and, as the Mueller Report is divulged it has a lot more in it than Trump figured it would...then, she can say that 'well, it was more damning than I thought'...and get on with impeaching after all...one of the two...

I am really curious about what the Judge is going to do about Roger Stone...who defied the order to back off from any comments about what he has been up to...has a book to be released (ha ha, who hasn't?)...he is back into court tomorrow or Thursday...think she may throw him into the slammer...stay tuned...

Talk about eerie...watch the defense of Nixon and the Repubs during Watergate...the exact same rhetoric used...the name calling...the blockade of the press...the Senators defending Richard M Nixon,  like he was a saint...until, things got too much...ah, is history repeating?...

One of Trumps big time supporters on FOX...'fair and balanced'...Tucker Carlson...is into a bit of turmoil...as in all of politics...the bloody skeletons...he has had bouts of what has been termed 'misogyny'...ah, the definition is dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice of women...let's see how he talks himself out of this...he may have a bit of a respite, as Donny Jr has given his full confidence in him...

The Boeing 737 Max 8...when two of the planes go down within 6 months of each other...there are red flags, for sure...there are a number of them out there...ie, used by Southwest Air and American Air, for two...the makers, are releasing technical updates...these are new models, kids...as many of the companies are grounding them, hmmm, but not the USA ones...until, answers are found as to why...?...

It was just a matter of time for something like this...in the NBA...the players sit amongst the fans...really...it's where the  benches are  in all of basketball...people drink them brewskies, and pop off to the players...well, a few do...some go over the line...talk real smack...enough that they should be removed from the stadium, arena, or pavilion...there are security people all over the place...last eve, Russ Westbrook, of the OKC Thunder took exception to what was jawing at him...and he responded...turned ugly...the solution?...get the players, coaches, and team personnel isolated in the gyms...do it and do it now...

The Futures?...Nasdaq up, Dow down...let's see if that follows...

This COULD be the last day for rain for a long while...
