A Little More Rain

'Rainy Night in Georgia'....one could alter that a bit, and replace the site, with San Diego...and be most accurate...what?...go figure, I did NOT see this coming...the song, however, is one of the best ever on the Horse's Top 100...originally done by Brook Benton, back in '70...it was written by the one and only, Tony Joe White...who had a hit himself, with the oh so lyrical, 'Polk Salad Annie'...remember this one?...every cover band on the circuit in Oregon played the bloody thang...back to 'Georgia'...another cover of the song, just jumped out at me, a few years back...as we refound the soothing sound of Boz Skaggs...finally saw him in concert, and now, that is a must do...anyhoo, he did the 'Rainy Night' and it is marvelous...and THAT version is in me top 100...

As we went searching for a place to have some late nite eats, last eve...the little woman and I ventured into our Little Italy...a Friday Night...kind of a dumb move, well, consider the source...the spots were slammed, and we did find a table at Ballast Point...and witnessed one of the neat things that we have ever seen...two large groups of hearing impaired people, having the times of the their lives...have no idea to what the were 'signing', but it had to be happy stuff, as they were laughing and laughing...ventured over to Pali Winery to finish off the excursion...and they featured there...something that I had never seen before for wine...a wine GROWLER...sure, there is that for beer, but wine?...

You know who Adam Silver is?...he is the commissioner of the NBA...and has some real valid points that he has brought up...one glaring item, the All Star Game debacle...he calls it 'an earring on a pig'...and is looking for a change in it, thank goodness...and the other major point?...reducing the number of games in the reg season, from 82 to 70...hmmm, would the owners want that?...on one hand, it would save the bodies of their players, but, on the other hand, it would reduce the cash flow...interesting...

Trump...I dunno, kids...he says so many things that are just downright eerie...or dumb...no better example than the guy who was released from the North Korean prison, and subsequently died soon after...Otto Warmbier...and Trump actually said that he asked Kim Jung Un and he said that he knew nothing about it...and Donny said that he believed Un...a pattern here?...believes Putin over his own CIA and FBI...believes the Saudi Prince over the CIA in the Washington Post writer brutally killed...this in itself, is an impeachable offense (s) in my way of thinking...

And so it begins today...our Padre lineup for the season to come...the batting order...

Rain, rain, go away....come again another day...like in 10 months...just got me a thinking a bit mas...who has covered the 'Rainy Night' song?...egads, get this...and this is just a partial list of peops...Ray Charles, George Benson, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Al Hirt, Johnny Rivers, Hank Williams Jr, Conway Twitty, Aaron Neville, Chris Young, Shelby Lynne, David Ruffin, BJ Thomas, and Rod Stewart...really...hmmm, I think I'll listen to some of these today...

Good morning all, from the great state of Oregon...this whole trip is about FRIENDS!...meeting up with peops we have been with over our years in the PNW...and for Boss's reunion....the opening act was a combo party of the two at this pad, a bar, called Johnny's...simply said, it was fun... The stories were there, the faces remained the same...and it tickled moi, that so many FRIENDS showed up...unfortunately, I did not get enough time to talk to all, please forgive me...when you go back some 60 years, my memory does fade a tad...well, and so does their's...ha ha...believe me, it was worth the trip... Boss was one of the belles of the ball...yes, she still looks great...you know that....well, the rest of her class did not know that, until last eve...she was flitting (flirting) about so...which made me smile...and that is only the beginning of it...the REAL reunion is tonight...one of my FRIENDS reminded me that is the gals reunion...which I think is most reunions...it is for...

O Yeah!

When the thesaurus ran it's new version...it highlighted the word 'oration'...and there it was ... President Barack Obama...and then there is more..... see...Michelle Obama ...these two have the fundamental prowess of giving speeches...at the right time...at the right place... No better example of this, than last night at the DNC...each were marvelous...of course ...it's what people, special people, like these two...do...carry a message across the Nation...that we all can not only understand, but agree with... For seemingly years, the Horse has said...that if Michelle O wanted to be in the White House, AGAIN...this time as the President, and not the wife...she could ...however, for right now...she is supporting the right choice...for this time of the history of our country.... Tonight, we hear another exceptional orator...President Bill Clinton ...it's almost like taking a class in college...Speech 101...BTW, I was turrible at it...just in case you were wondering......

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?...
