Where Are We?

'What if God was one of us?'...you remember the lyrics to a song, that has this line in it?...well now, we went to her concert last eve...and all along the way, we had a journey of epic proportions...it was at 'The Belly Up' in Solana Beach...a venue that has it's good and it's bad...we'll get there...to save our soul, and, er to arrive without a search for a parking spot...and to have a brewskie or two...too...and not face the slight chance of a DUI...

We are in a cold down here in SoCal...and the Lyft ride was a bit uncomfortable, as the driver had it like real hot...when we pulled up, the line was already established...as long...the doors open up at 7...the show at 8...and here is the rub...there are seats available for the GA tix...but, as we were warned...one has to get there at SIX to get the seats...alas, NO WAY were we going to wait that long...

So, as we got into the building, the seats were all taken...we were destined to be standing for the show...so be it...nevertheless, we walked around looking for a spot to squeeze into...went right up front...and VOILA!, found a couple of gals who would let us sit there...ah, FRONT ROW!...as they were waiting for their men to arrive....

And then, the fireworks erupted...just like us, there were some peops that were a searching a spot to land...it was a SOLD OUT SHOW...a couple of gals asked if they could it at the table next to us...and the present inhabitant told them NO...a woman...and continued on, 'I don't want a couple of dikes sitting at our table'...what?...the lady at OUR table got incensed, 'how can you talk to ANYONE like that?'...reacting and speaking to the accuser, I guess that's what one calls it...the accuser then responded 'stay out of this and you are fat!'...Where are we?...

Security was called...and the situation was as uncomfortable as I have ever seen...for something like this...a concert for some good vibes...well, at that moment, there were none of them...the perpetrator was given a stern warning...and we all sat there in stunned silence...with the gals at THAT table...wowser...

Fortunately, the show started up...shortly after 8...and there was no warm up act...thank goodness...to chill up the negative...and bring out the positive...the singer was Joan Osborne...and her gig was to sing songs of Bob Dylan...which she intertwined with her own...hmmm, all that I had not known...all the while, we awaited for her 'One Of Us' hit song from the 70's?...around there...a moment that she warned the crowd...that her version of Dylan's best song, we would either hate it or love it...

'Rainy Day Women #12 & 35'...that's it...and you were right, Joan, I HATED IT!...the song is a beaut just as he did it...not as she did it...slowed it down and pretty much made it almost unrecognizable...well, now, we gave ourselves about 20 more minutes of it all...and we bolted...hungry...

Got a great Lyft ride back...promptly, and went to Little Italy...landed at a brand new restaurant...in a totally revamped area of India St...'Farmer's Table'...terrific food and this was like at 10 pm...BTW, the restaurant is humongous in sq ft....yea, the nite ended well...

This am...I first noticed the Futures...crap...a DOWN day...brace yourself...

Then turned on the pixels to CNN for a little Congressional hearing and query of acting AG McMillan...oh my, he is a piece of work...belligerent as hell...and makes you wonder what he is hiding...duh...we know...we just got to get it out of him....

It's an off track day with the HDCPer Andy...going to be a great one...
