The Grammy's

The state of music...might be judged by the awards that are given this eve at the Grammy's...maybe...I'm not sure of the direction, now...are you?...are lyrics back?...how about the thump of a bass, that triggers anything that may go with it?...is it all about the dance?...can't think of a song that has a melody that I keep humming, or singing to...

The hostess this year is Alicia Keys...that's cool...she is saying that the show will be 'sick'...groovy, Miss Keys...rad...far out...the bomb...hip...ah, whatever...nice to see that Diana Ross is on the performing docket...as well as Little Big Town...Miley...listen, she can sing...and be a bit rebellious, too...this is the show that usually brings that out...even more...

Part of the mystery of the music business, is the selling of the songs...gone, for the most part, are the vinyls, CD's, and cassettes...physical things that one would own...now, you don't have that...your music is in the Cloud...somewhere in your computer...that you can find on your phone, too...egads, the connection process is beyond me...I liked the vinyl the best...buy it, scan the interlinings, sing along to the songs...pretty much, a goner...too bad...

So, the artists are dependent on the itunes types of management...they keep the tally of who bought what, and how often...is it accurate?...I don't hear complaints...however, I do hear such, with whomever is played on the radio, or XM...Pandora...and others...who decides what is played?...are agents still in control?...you know, pay the stations to play their clients work...I dunno...

OK...

The opposition is working their momentum up...trying to find someone to defeat the big orange bear in the White House...thus far, it is just from the Democratic side of thangs...I wonder if a Republican might emerge?...someone that would be funded by the real Repubs...the Koch Bros...stay close to this, kids...it will be an item...Paul Ryan?...trust the Horse, there will be one...

The Demos have people announcing they are in...I'm skeptical of 'em so far...it's like building a snow man...just keep a rolling, as it gets bigger and bigger...well, Joe Biden, is waiting to jump...smart, as it is way too soon...2 years to go?...but, I keep thinking that whomever emerges has to be able to stand up to the ogre and beat him down...

You know I have said Michele Obama could...don't think she wants it, yet...how about Nancy Pelosi?...she has met the bloke at the top and shot him down...something to consider, DNC...BTW, are they going to pull all the strings again?...good gawd, I hope not...

Yes...

I love trying to play at golf...but, I hate it in miserable weather...like what the Pros are doing at Pebble Beach...and lo and behold, Lefty is in the mix again...2nd to Paul Casey...a little wager for ya...I BET 98% of the US golfers are pulling for Mickleson to win it today...ah, there are the 2% who think that FIGJAM is just too much...ha ha...what, he's like 48?...amazing...

College hoops...'the committee' announced their top 16, at this point in time...for the Big Dance...Duke and Virginia were in the top 4...and yesterday, the Blue Devils beat the Cavs...again...this time in the embattled state of Virginia...I don't think that the Cavs are top 4 worthy...sorry, but it's true...

Back to music...it's appropriate...CNN (Trump's fake news station acclamation) has been rerunning their Seventies and Eighties Shows...that goes back into them days and highlights what was prevalent...really 'sick'...I digress...it is a MUST see if you haven't already...

Just for fun, my naming of the best albums of yesteryear...'Tapestry' by Carole King...'What's Going On' by Marvin Gaye...'Sgt Pepper' by the Beatles...'Pet Sounds' by the Beach Boys...'Rumours' by Fleetwood Mac...'Thriller' by Michael Jackson...who might you add?...

Could be a wassie morning...
