The Sunday Synopsis

Not sure when our country has been more energized for a mid-term election...YES, with the sides clearly drawn...and polarized...the next month will be a doozy...there is such a reaction to Trump that makes this a monumental vote...

The right...the conservatives...are stuck with him...and, not to lose face, support his actions...at all costs...yes, it will be at that level...witness the Kavanaugh Confirmation...so embroiled were the Republican Senators, that they bought into him...all of this under the guise of a 'product of their party'...alas, NO, it was to protect Donny when the probable happens...this Judge, now seated, will do his job, to try to squash any notion of an indictment of Trump...

The vote...was 50-48...the smallest margin since 1881...I think one Senator was on an emergency leave, and one abstained...so, it is so...the leaders of the Repubs made a call for help...in yet, an obscure way...saying that the party was energized...listen, the right stayed in the same column...the base is solid...

But growing?...hardly...the VOTE has given fodder for the Democrats...and this has stimulated those who DIDN'T vote in the Generals, a couple of years back...which made all of this that we have...this mess...and this embarrassment...ENERGIZED?...you bet...enough to win the majority in the Senate?...it's the million, er billion, dollar question...let's see what happens...

Lost in the limelight of the bigs...is the incredible win by San Diego St in Boise...15 point dogs!...and thoroughly shellacked the Blue Field Boys in their own park...took away any semblance of a high powered O...this with backup QB and RB, leading the way, on the Aztecs offense...

It's been a decade since the once mighty Longhorns of Texas were just that...for whatever reason, the team has been languished in mediocrity...in a state that is full of talented kids...they wouldn't sign on there....well, they are finally returning...and witness the highly entertaining match with their rival, Oklahoma...that Texas won at the buzzer, with a true frosh unit of hiker, place holder and Dicker, the kicker...I watched it and it was terrific offensive football...

The Cougs did handle the Beavs in 'sleepy town' Corvallis...that's what the pixel announcer called it...but, OSU's coaches did some trickery to keep the game in reach...made it fun...and it is obvious that they are on the right track...will take time you Beaver Believers...hang in there...

When you play 82 games in the regular season, and then another 24 in the playoffs...not sure why you would have an extended pre-season schedule of 6 more games...in the NBA...they play who they are gonna pay...sure, it's cuz of the almighty dollar...at the gate...

You a fan of the way that the PGA does their wraparound season?...already starting the new year, the following week after the Ryder Cup...give the blokes some time off...wait a couple of months...

Wallowing in the negative...am I?...the plight of P David Price, of the Bosox...who has lost 9 straight starts in the post season...well, he gets there...to have so many of 'em...but, his journey continued on the same way last eve...didn't make it thru 2 innings against the Yankees...as NY evened the series...

Want a harrowing stat?...according to the Tennessean, there is a gun threat EVERY 3 days in the schools in Nashville...what is going on?...Trump, you have an answer?...

Watched with mild interest the fight with the McGregor bloke in the MMA?...is that what it is called?...the fight went on after the submission...outside of the cage...I dunno, but it looked a lot like Pro Rasslin to moi...and Jimmy Crack Corn, and I don't care...

If the reason that the stock market is flourishing so...is due to Trump...so he says...then why did the market fall off so, the last couple of days, when he was winning?...

And the final remark for the day...the Republican Senator Collins of Maine...let this out...that she doesn't think that the sexual abuser of Dr Ford was Kavanaugh....when Dr Ford said it was him, 100%...in essence, called her A LIAR...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
