Sunday Unhinged

Hi!...how you all been?...have to admit there was wack going on yesterday...right?...here we go, on some observations from the mind of the Horse...some are debatable, for sure...send your comments my way...I can handle it...if you disagree, well, even if you AGREE!...I'm good...

As I was cruising thru the scores of the D-1 Football games...I noticed that there were a bundle of lopsided results...like teams that were substantially better than others...you and I know, this is to pad the record and to pad the budget...for both teams and colleges...why else would you schedule a certain shellacking?...for the dough, of course...

One that stood out...was the North Texas game...where they won 58-16 over Incarnate Word...what?...wait, that's really a name for a U?...I have never, ever heard of that one before....hmmm...well, it's a relatively new one...their FB started up in '09...2009, that is...it is a Private Catholic U...that plays in a home stadium of, gulp, 6,000!...shoot, many high schools have stadiums larger than that...in San Antonio, Texas...OK, then, they are the Cardinals...

The Ducks and the Beavs both got lopsided wins...Portland St and Southern Utah, respectively were the victims...to follow the pattern of games number two on the U's version of getting to the 'Bowl Games'...one not so, was Stanford, who methodically beat USC...or, Arizona St winning on a FG over the highly heralded Michigan St Spartans...oh, yes, SDSU came alive late and beat Sac St...which I knew would be close...so not all were patsies...

The Fed Ex T, is trying to close out...but the east coast weather is causing delays and problems...duh...man, there are a bunch of dudes so close...too hard to predict a victor...and maybe even harder to figure when the rounds will commence...

What a spectacle in the gals version of the US Open for tennis...as you know, I am not a fan...not even close...but, the carrying on of Serena Williams in her loss to Naomi Osaka...her unending duel with the referee...got to be more than was needed...her point of cheating...then the comparison of gender bias...I dunno, got to be a bit much...really, took away from the winner, Ms. Osaka...and was too bad...

Then there is the Nike thing...with a campaign of using Kaepernick as their face of...really ticked many people off...in as much as to ask for the banning of use of all Nike gear and jerseys...saw where a collegiate gals volleyball team, tossed theirs in favor of grey tee shirts...man, we have a lot of political division in our midst...polarization...I even saw a dude, playing golf yesterday, that tore his Nike swoosh from the golf shirt he was wearing...passionate people...apparently, Nike feels that they must stand up, er kneel down, to make their own statement...

North Korea had their military march to show their strength...without the entrance of the ICBM's...you KNOW how badly Trump wants to do the same, don't you...

The NFL has most of their games today...week 1...and that means...so does the christening of Fantasy Football, throughout the land...the Horse is hoping for some big numbers...really, I have no clue...and since the Bolts have bolted, my home team is the Tennessee Titans...

And finally...I'll set this up...when I was a youngster...my mother would tell tales of when the WWII was going on...prior to my birth, kids...they lived in Oregon...and at night would pull the shades down...show NO light...as there were fears of a Japanese attack...and on this date, September 9, 1942, it did happen...from a ship off the Oregon coast, a plane took off and dropped 2 incendiary bombs on a forest in Southern Oregon...with hopes of starting massive forest fires...thankfully, they didn't...

And that's the way it is, or was...9/9/18...
