Happy 4th of July!

Yup, here we go, more of the extended weekend I have been blabbering about...and this is the foundational reasoning for it...July 4th...the USA's Independence Day...when, back in 1776, the founders came up with the 'doctrine' that gave us solidarity and freedom from the British...actually, it was done on July 2...but it took 2 more days to ratify...and there you go...

It's a Federal Holiday...and all the fireworks and gala productions are due to it...with our change of the weather...we have to be a bit more cautious as to what we light ON FIRE!...some places forbid it...like in the brittle mid states, such as 'Zona...where they are sending up, lighted, drones...that they can electronically simulate the 'fireworks'...cool, huh...

Here at the home, we have a big big party...food, music, and then some, old people trying to dance...it's a sight for sure...have you seen the movie 'Cocoon?'...well, believe me, there are way too many similarities...did I say there was booze?...

Coupled with that, there is a photo contest...I've told you about it before....and for the 2nd straight year I was snubbed...boo....you should see what beat me out...below is my 'loser's picture'...you tell me...

There are some great songs that feature the day...'God Bless The USA' by Lee Greenwood...'Independence Day' by Martina McBride...and how about 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' by the Andrew Sisters...ah come on, let's party!...

Other...

One of my early on potential wagers on the MLB season...was indeed for the listless Padres of San Diego...the query?...if the team could win at least 70 games...a Vegas bet, kids...thought long and hard...the odds weren't right...so I passed...at this juncture, using the % of wins for the season...they would win 69, at the MOST!...oh yea, the losses mount up...another last eve in Oakland...the hero for the A's?...Jed Lowrie AGAIN!....bases loaded double...

I mentioned Vegas...our destination...last year it was just prior to the 4th...I guess we get the itch about at the same time...don't plan it that way, like we do Maui...just happens...

If you are a bit skeptical at what direction the education system is going in this country, you would be right on...turning into disarray...and what on earth is POTUS doing with the end of getting more minorities in college?...using the smoke screen, that it didn't help the Asian Americans...just add them to the list, not abandon what is there...I could say more, but let's leave it at that...

With the 1st pick in the 1918 Supreme Court draft...the Prez of the United States selects ____...well now, there are lots of early predictions, that he may try to add a female Judge...some say it may be Judge Judy...I digress...I mean the television stars have to stick together...

You KNEW it was coming...out of LaLa Land, er the Lake Show...the daddy of the Ball kid...Lavar...is popping off...said that his boy will not play 'off guard' to LeBron James...that he, Lonzo, will be the point guard...yes, he makes these comments...and yes he, has no input...and yes he, and his boy will be shipped off to someone who might want him...right now, there are NO takers...

I can't make this up...the Majority Leader in the Senate, Mitch McDonnell...Rep out of Kentucky...'there's not much that the Federal Government can do about school shootings'...sure, he gets bucks from the NRA...and he is one of them that sends his 'thoughts and prayers' whenever they happen...often...
