The Beat Goes On and On and On

Thanks to the infamous duo of my generation, Sonny and Cher...for the blog title today...yes, saw them in concert way back in the 60's at the Salem (Oregon) Armory...as they sang one of the classics...'I Got You Babe'...to this day, one of my all time favorites...

Game 3 in the NBA Finals...talk about the beat going on...as the Warriors won it, and are threatening an unheralded SWEEP!...this was done, as Curry was having a dreadful nite shooting the rock...missed as many 3 balls, as he made just a few days before...I was shouting at the screen, 'QUIT SHOOTING!'...but...Kev Durant was having an awesome game...pretty much carrying the team...with dagger after dagger...ie, a monster 3 pointer, eerily similar to the one he hit in LAST year's final...

But...one must question defensive strategy by the Cavs...who were doubling up on Curry...and, as the game wore on...were successful in taking his points away...but, you MUST make in game adjustments...and turn the attention to the hot hand of Durant...do one of two things...double him, or, put your king on him...mano a mano...appeared to me, the latter was NOT going to happen...as LeBron switched off KD as quickly as he could...hmmm, MJ would have taken him on...Kobe would have done so, too...I reserve my judgment as best ever...

TBS, too bad a station, like theirs, isn't carrying the finals...I would lurve to hear Chas, Kenny, and Shaq dismantle this series...however, it is also the one that televises the Samantha Bee Show, whatever it is called...they should have fired her, after her disgusting 'commentary' on Ivanka...she knew what she was saying...and she was back on last nite, started with an apology...on and on and on...

The wondrous Pads, got the W and the series versus the division leading Atlanta 'Braves'...using a compilation of relievers throughout the game...I was a doubter, and now, I bow down...to the tenacity and idea of it all...Mgr Green, well done, matey...he even thru in a suicide squeeze for good measure...off we go on a 10 game roadie...is there promise?...

Here at the home, we have been bantering about a Nashville trip...coinciding with a concert or two there at the Bridgestone Arena...nothing was a popping...so we went to option numero dos...Vegas...used a free night jobbie at the Mirage, and a Mariah Carey Concert...and voila!...plans are done...and we are booked!!!

Yea, as I mentioned yesterday...that most of my emails were advertisements...so I went thru and blocked many of 'em...ha ha...turns out that 80% of those, were from golf sites and stores...I do have limited likes, apparently...

POTUS...oh my...maybe in jest...while talking to the Canadian Prime Minister...Justin Trudeau...'didn't you guys burn down the White House?'...ah yes, the facts please...it was them Brits...but that doesn't stop our guy...how to make friends in high places...the beat goes on...

Home selling...according to an ( sounds better with a) USA Today article...the fastest selling cities ie, Seattle and 3 Cali ones...the slowest?...NY...price it right and it will sell...

I suppose that if 'they' make Rocky movies over and over...then 'they' can make Legally Blonde ones...over and over...who goes to these, anyway?...the remakes go on and on and on...

My golfing mates are making the trek to Shinnecock Hills for the Open next week...jealous, I am...but, they are not going the way that Tiger is...in his $20 million buck yacht...yes, he needs a win real bad...

The AP ( nobody calls that out much anymore, right?) reports that only two of the Philly Eagles had planned on going to the White house...DJT must have caught wind of that, and put out a blanket rejection for the whole team...ha ha...the beat goes on and on...

The third leg of the Triple Crown is this weekend in Elmont, NY...site of the Belmont...weird, huh...many dreams have been squashed in this race...usually, the track is heavy...the race is loooong....and the fav gets passed...Justify will give it a go...Hdcp Andy says HE will win...there you go, you have the winner...now, go bet it...

This Kate Spade suicide is tragic...suicides always are...the ones left behind...the reasoning...but, the picture of the husband, wearing a mouse mask is the most bizarre thing I have ever seen...what is he thinking?...pictured today in the New York Post...

I can't leave you on that note...so...the CMT Awards were held in Nashville last night...taped it and have not viewed...yet...but MY FAVS won the key awards...Blake, Carrie and LBT...now THIS is good news...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
