Summertime!

'It's summertime, summertime, sum sum summertime'...thanks to the Jamies for this great song of the FIRST day of SUMMER!...6/21...June 21st...OK, let's list some of the great songs of the summer for ya...just for your fun...in the summer...naw, in no particular order...just groove along...

1. The aforementioned Jamies hit...I'm sure Snooki had NO CLUE it was them that sang it...

2.  Hot Fun In The Summertime...Sly and the Family Stone...terrific, and who could forget Sly's interview by Dick Cavett...'what book are YOU reading?'...

3.  All Summer Long...by the Beach Boys...who, BTW, we are seeing this weekend up at Pala Casino...not great seats, but who will be sitting anyway?...gosh, they had a load of summer hits...

4.  In The Summertime...Mungo Jerry...ah, right...how many other hits did he (they?) have?...had an infectious beat...

5.  A Summer Song...Chad and Jeremy...loved their harmony...mostly slower songs, right?...some confused 'em with Peter and Gordon...

6.  Theme from a Summer Place...ah, no words...still...Percy Faith and his Orchestra...somebody tried to add lyrics, later...didn't work...

7.  Summer in the City...Lovin' Spoonful...my hey days...could hear John Sebastian sing purnt near anything...such a mellow voice...

8.  Summer Breeze...Seals and Croft...saw these dudes at the Oregon State Fair waaaaay back when...they were like 40 minutes late...couldn't find Oregon, I think...

9.  Summertime Blues...Eddie Cochran...now you have to find this in the 50's, I think...yea, I know you youngins, but it was a grand time for music...

10.  Summer Nights...from Grease...John Travolta and Olivia Newton John...let's be honest, I just lurved the show and the soundtrack...

11.  Indian Summer...Brooks and Dunn...I guess even us Injuns have to accept that there is this phenomena of an Indian Summer...however, this tune is exceptional...

12.  School's Out For Summer...the notorious Alice Cooper...yes, I dug this when I taught...not just the kids had the itch, the teachers had the same...get outta there!...

13.  Summer Fever...the latest one...by Little Big Town...catchy, fun little ditty...

What did I leave out?...add yours to the list...

Other...

Now that POTUS caved and signed a docu that reversed his separation of the family...he is left with what is left...he doesn't have an exit strategy...duh...what happens to the kids, whose parents are already deported?...I could go on...at least he has some form of order, from here on out...

Claims of abuse are rampant of those kids incarcerated ...I keep wondering when the people who are doing the 'care' of them, will start divulging what was going on...the REAL story...

ICE, some may refer it as the modern day Gestapo...raided a meat packing company in Ohio...rounded up 145 'illegals'...shouldn't the company bear some brunt of this?...I am totally confused...

Recall that the head of Housing got the comeuppance as she was eating at a Mexican Restaurant?...one of those who were protesting, was a worker in the organization...we are teetering...I tell ya...

You know Steve Schmidt?...a longtime Repub who is bailing out...to the other side...has had it with Trump and prepare yourself for the like...so much for me being fair and balanced...

Loved the fact that the OSU Beavers came back and won their game in the College World Series...but...the length of the game is laboriously...LONG!....the 6th or 7th inning, must have been an hour and half...not kidding...speed it UP!...

The fading Padres...ooops....there goes my positivity....lost 4 in a row...got banged bad yesterday...and ended up pitching a non pitcher...embarrassing and not PROFESSIONAL...well, we are supposed to get Wil Myers back today...in SF...hold on to your caps...

I did get out to the course yesterday...not all bad, did not swing and miss...hit my irons decently, but the flat stick?...was just awful...missed so many 3 footers, that I felt like a spaz...however the day was not a total zero....as Pops Morgan (fresh from a return from the US Open) brought me a gift from there...way cool, huh...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
