Fair or Unfair?

Morning, kids...how ya'll doing this fine am?...woke up to the bodacious smell of coffee brewing...my perk for Papa's Day...and the dawg, Sammi, licking me face...purnt near perfect beginning, don't ya think?...let's go...

The Open at Shinnecock...what a 3rd day it was...the course itself, can be brutal...with any type of winds...that dries it out...makes the greens disastrous!...you see, they are upside down frying pans...imagine table tops, with the edges all dropping way off...that's these...and THAT'S what happened in just a few hours...near impossible to hit a ball and have it stay on the greens...

So....the dudes who played early, had decent weather...could post some 'moving day' scores...and wait for the onslaught of the weather, and the HIGH scores to follow...in fact, the two that jumped up, Daniel Berger and Tony Finau, are in the FINAL group now...as the leaders, faltered badly...ie, the one to beat, Dustin Johnson, who was 7 OVER for the day...that bad, kids...so...here came the grumblings...

Most of the Pros shrugged it off...as their sentiment is, that they all have to play the same course, how UNFAIR it can be...but, on camera, Zach Johnson, led it loose...that the USGA 'lost' the course...couldn't keep it playable...Ian Poulter, took it further...he Tweeted (sorry DJT, you're not the only one that uses it) wondered what 'Bozo' set up the course...he went on...ticked at the crowds who, in his words, chastised him whenever he missed the greens...even when bogeyed a hole, chanted USA!...wowser, he will have a beautiful day out there this Sunday...maybe wear earplugs, Ian...he be from England, right?...but lives here now...as they ALL do...taxes, you know...

Alas, in the midst of all this...FIGJAM, er Lefty, I mean he is a righty, but is called Lefty, well, he is Phil...like in Mickleson...on his birthday, mind you...kind of stole the spotlight...as the crowds love him, so it seems...serenading him often singing 'happy birthday' on many holes...however, he was struggling...falling way back into the pack...and then did the unimaginable...

Hit a putt on hole no. 13...and as it was apparently not going to stop on the green...boogie on off of it...he 'sprinted' over to the ball...while it is still moving, mind you...and 'batted' it back to the hole!...the FOX dudes and analysts went ballistic...'did he give up?'...'what was he thinking?'...on and on...well now...he KNEW what he was doing...took advantage of the rules...

In his post round interview with Curtis Strange...admitted that he took advantage of the rule...that he COULD stop a moving ball, and just take a 2 stroke penalty...ah ha...the Horse does NOT buy this...it is an intentional move to 'within the rules', alter his scoring...even moreso, take the honesty out of the game...where, for the most part, you penalize yourself for an infraction...I am disappointed not only in him, but the lack of backbone of the PGA dudes...for not disqualifying him...

Anyway, the day will go on...and SOMEBODY will emerge thru all this haze...and win the tourney and be the US Open Championship...supposedly, the powers to be are watering up the course, make it doable...UNLESS, the winds come up again...no doubt, it will be high drama...my pick?...got NO clue, but hope for Berger or Finau....oh yea, to you Ian, 'USA USA!"...

You must be reading about the changing of scenery of many of the NBA blokes...where they may go and all...where they may make yet another contender to battle the Warriors of the Bay Area...here's the deal...I am cautious...the plus that one makes, has to be a positive...character...a team oriented guy...otherwise, it WON'T WORK...

Vacay...when it is time to take some time off....calm down peops, I know I'm always on one...but the little wurman, is not...we set sail on another juggernaut...finding the key times, that's the real issue...zigzagging about...fly, drive, or take the train?...August is the month of interest..and we are a looking...

Yesterday was 'Grease's 40th anniversary...yes, I dug the flick...Travolta and Olivia Newton John were perfectly type cast...we even saw her in concert last year in Vegas...and she put on a nice show...can you say that?...
