Mother's Day

Be thankful for the mothers out there...all of you...as I am of mine...as I have stated many times, you can never do enough for them...while they are in the here and now...please please please...if yours is still around, be a good child...which, by the way, you ALWAYS will be...a child in HER eyes...her child...pictured here, is mine...

I was just a thinking...from the good old days of the teevee...what were the best moms?...here's a list with no particular order as the best...
1.  Harriett of the Ozzie and Harriett Show...remember her?...
2.  Aunt Bee...not sure if she was Andy's, but sure acted like a mom...
3.  Donna Reed...are you getting a pattern here?...
4.  June Cleaver...you know, Beaver's mother...
5.  Estelle Costanza...George's mother...
6.  Mrs. Seinfeld...did she have a front name?...
7.  Julia...Diane Carroll...single mom....
8.  Edith Bunker...of 'All in the Family' fame...
9.  Lucy of 'I Love Lucy'...classic comedic relief...
10.  Peggy Bundy of 'Married with Children'...ah yea...
11.  Carmela Soprano of the HBO superseries...reminds me of someone...
12.  Claire Huxtable...of 'The Cosby Show'...
There are many others, but those are the ones I watched and got a kick out of...maybe made an impact...something...

Other...

The mighty Pads pulled out a W over at Petco...took them 13 innings to do so, but TG for ANY win...in the same breath, the team finally let Chase Headley go...time to go with the youth of the organization...some thing...any thing...but, get some pitching here...c'mon GM Preller, do YOUR job...

What terrific rounds for both Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods!  each at 65's...and moved into contention...well, up the leader board...as it looks like NO ONE can catch Webb Simpson...who leads by a whopping 7 strokes!...I think I heard this right...Commentator Johnny Miller said that NO PGA player had ever given up a last day 7 stroke lead...really?...turn out the lights...

The NBA semis start today...the east is first...as the Cavs invade Boston...unless I am way off base, expect LeBron and his crew to light up them Celts...and the west is mañana...more of a series?...my pick is the Rockets, but my heart is in San Francisco....well, Alameda...let the games BEGIN!...

Sarah Huckabee...what?...yes, a real name...unleashed on HER staff about a leak...she has a staff?...I wouldn't want to be on her bad side...just a guess...

We have had some heated conversations about the Presidency...lately...but this is food for the fodder...the Demos have released the number...of at least 25 possible candy men and women who are hitting the campaign trail...NOW...to see if there is an impact out there to their vision...I call this interesting...

Tonight...American Idol...reached out to Carrie...for guidance of the final 5...and each of 'em are singing a song of hers and one other...the guys sanging a girl song?...I digress...happens...the one that I am hinting...is the gal who is doing 'I Told You So'...should be a ticket on to the next level...

Did I leave out Hillary Clinton?...she is a famous teevee mom, right?...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
