Full Effort

Play with passion...like this is your last game of the season...get on the floor...take a charge...double the key guys...no free and easy layups...deny deny deny...block out...defend the rim...run run run...OK, you get the picture...listen, you don't have to be the most talented to play D...and THAT'S the way to equate the haves and the have nots...extreme effort...

No better example of that than the Miami Heat...man for man, much less talented than their match up, the 76ers...Philly is NOT backing down, either....so you have a donnybrook...absolutely terrific hoop play...yes, the 6ers will probably win it...but not before they are challenged in every way by Miami...

Not so in Portland...as their folly continued and went flat...got swept by the N'orleans whatevers...in a defensive mockery by the Blazers...compare the play by Miami and PDX...there are no similarities...really, it is embarrassing...as this blogger has been saying all season...and there needs to be a change at the top...they have many good parts, but, don't get the D thang...I could break down the reasoning, but naw...

What are the atrocious colors of the Utah Jazz?...I thought they were green and purple...now they are red and yellow?...WTH?...OK, throw that aside...they play with passion and purpose...like the effort of the Heat...and beat the more talented, individually, OKC...the Thunder are a mystery to moi...should be so much better...but don't play in sync...

Let's move on...

You following the heated twitter war with Prez T and the NY Times writer?...a gal...he said, she said...he is bullying whom?...she is a 3rd rate...blah blah blah...isn't he supposed to be the ultimate answer for us right now?...it is alarming and mortifying...

So a crazy kid goes into a Waffle House and starts shooting...kills 4 and wounds others...a patron tackled the scum and took  the gun away from him...and the killer escapes...he was naked...goodness, what have we come to?...this happened last night...Antioch, Tennessee...I think...

The passing of Barbara Bush, wife of Prez George H Bush...such a classy lady...at the funeral yesterday there was a missing person...Prez T...Melania was there...I guess, in lieu...let's leave that alone...the unwritten rule, is to send the wife...to save the ceremony from the security needed for the acting Prez...whatever...

Jack Johnson...the heavyweight champ of the world, over a 100 years ago...got arrested and convicted by a jury to go to PRISON for immorality...you see he was black...and took a white woman across state lines...the Mann Act...an all white jury...listen, it was real complicated and just try and follow it...still, Prez T is debating a pardon, posthumously...

So close was the effort of the Pad's Ross for a no hitter...then the next night, the fete was done by an Oakland A dude....against the hottest team in the game...the Bosox...a couple of controversial calls, went the dudes way...it's all OK by moi....good on him...

And...hopefully finally...I have been like way sick...and after hearing from others...I was not the only one...that got whatever from our trip to Borrego...food poisoning...and I won't be graphic, but it put me in unchartered waters...I think I am almost back...to normal...you don't know how good, good is, until you have been bad...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
