Picking Up The Pieces

You have had time to ponder the school shooting in Florida...what needs to be done...as the path we are on, is NOT working...you can not avoid the coverage of the aftermath...who did it, why he did it, what he did after and before his killing spree...and on and on...then, The Vigil held for the assassinated...their tributes, their survivors, all coming together as one...such a sad time...and that word 'sad' is not enough...

The commentary on the social media...is definitely polarized...as some will counter with lengthy verbiage to blur the facts of the rapid fire guns as the weapon of choice, for the assassins...that it is not the guns, but the person, who is doing the killing...that it is the right of every legally aged American to bear arms...right, but listen to me carefully...not the AR-15 or the similar...let us begin there...

Sadly, as we observe and feel the pain of  the broken lives of all involved...as they are PICKING UP THE PIECES, and trying to go on...what will our elected officials do?...as they can affect the change more so than whatever you or I...say...or do...so we watch as they address this...and we have but one chance to do our share...each and every time the election vote is to be...to put into THAT position a person to make a change to this broken system...do NOT forget...

The NBA All Star game is this weekend in LaLa Land...if you are a pro hoop junkie, this is definitely your time for fun...like the MLB, if you are selected, you play in this...it's an honor to be chosen...and it's an honor to play in the game...fuggit about the game itself...it is a dunk fest, with no D played...it is more of a showcase...and that's just fine with me...

So...I can now give you the Horse's prediction for the rest of the year in the NBA...mind you, I have passions just like the average fan...in the East, Cleveland traded up to get some very athletic, younger dudes...and they are the easy favs...Toronto and Boston will make it interesting...but naw, King James and his band of Cavs will win it...easily...in the West, the Golden St Warriors have been besieged with injuries and lackadaisical play...as the Houston Rockets have passed them up with the best record...my problem is the last year fade in the wind performance by the Beard...playoff time...but, I will still, give them the nod to get there from this coast...

Not sure if I can keep up with all the alleged affairs of DJ Trump back in the '06, and '07 years...was he married then?...I dunno...just curious how the Demos missed all this when he was running for THE election...usually, the opposite sides don't miss a lick...well now, he was in the 2nd year of marriage to Melania...something tells me that there is a mighty cold wind in the White House...

The flu...according to the 'expert' on the vaccines, Dr. William Schaffner, out of Vanderbilt University...this year's flu vaccine is only 26% effective on the flu that is going around the country....hmmm, those are not great odds that it will quell the damn sickness...one out of 4?...

Out of control...I was watching the Oregon at USC hoop game last eve...in which the Trojans won...the Ducks played poorly...not the usual time of the season, that they are in this form...however, here is my mention...there was a roving dude on the public address system...you know, like leading yells...the act like this...is out of bounds...and should be banned from the stadium...it's bad enough in the pro games...but those 'announcers' are sitting at the scorer's bench...still...

You could use a megaphone...like the olden times...wait, maybe not...as the refs had had enough....this was in the Arizona/ASU game...and the 'Zona cheerleader, yes, you heard me...got tossed from the game...for using it and his voice, to harass a Sun Devil, attempting to shoot a free throw...lawdy, if that were the case at Duke, the refs would have to empty the stadium...

The latest PGA stop...also, in LaLa Land...the Genesis Open...at Riviera...lawdy, it is a tough track...has the bigs playing...Jordan, Justin, Lefty, and yes Tiger, too...amongst others...it's the type of course, that they appear to be like you and me, playing golf...but...they are not...7 or 8 under should win it...

After a horrendous last week in the stocks, this one was a very good one...go figure...something about 'bottoming out'...I dunno...I mean, I dunno...

The Bachelor over-runs...the ones that didn't get picked...get other chances to pair up...this time it is in the snow world...same theory...you don't get a rose, and you are put out in the snow and have to snow shoe to the local airport to get out of dodge...

Very sad news....one of our very good friends from back north...died in the past few days...very tough part of life...as we bow our heads...in grief...we will head up there for the funeral...
