Peaceful Easy Feeling

Just close your eyes, and take a big deep breath...and let your cares fade away...just for a little while...relax...saunter on over to the kitchen counter, find your favorite coffee mug...and pour a cup of your finest French Roast...add some cream and sugar, if you must...take that sip...the first is always the best...now, settle in and let your mind get involved with the reading of the Horse...

One of the huge advantages of living in the city...is all of the restaurants and bars, so close by...the mountains, the airport, the bay, and the ocean...in particular, this area called San Diego...as we got the itch to go to the beach yesterday...the top down, we cruise over to Mission Beach, a scant 15 minutes away...take out our beach chairs, our Padre towel...earphones and the books...and groove for a couple of hours...as the waves pound on the sand...now THIS, is a peaceful, easy feeling...

The rest of the day...watching the dudes play the Genesis Open in LaLa Land on the pixels...of course, a high percentage of the viewing was dedicated to following Tiger and his other two...Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy...who somehow weathered the onslaught of Wood's adoring fans...my takeaway...Tiger can't hit it as far as the boys...like 20 yards diff...that has to mess with his mind bad...there is a lot of pride involved...hmmm...and Rory is so close to getting back...and could be the top in the world...again...close...

So...we decided to head on out for some bubbly and have some happy hour goodies...a few blocks away...over at the Headquarters...hit Seasons 52 and Eddie V's...the latter is terrific...humongous bar, and plenty of help...can't say enough good things and we will return often...that good...

Other...

Can't get this outta my head...assuming that we are not going to get any change in our gun laws...at least not until there is a new vote for the Congressionals to get into office...the absurd 'thoughts and prayers' mantra stays alive...but not the people killed...we look at what needs to be done to counter yet...another attack...which, of course, is imminent...

I have come up with this plan...do not find me silly...if you post more security at the gates of events, schools, churches, and wherever many people are gathering...if the security only has a hand gun, or a rifle...it does little good...as the assassin has a rapid fire gun...so, the security must have a rapid fire gun, too...hmmm, when is the last time you flew into Mexico?...isn't that what they have posted everywhere you look at the airport?...military with rapid fire guns...think this, the path of most resistance...kinda demoralizing huh...

And...

I know you are readying yourself for the Big Dance...ah, the college hoop tourney...geez, Thursday a whole host of the top 20 teams got whupped...believe me, kids, it is a shot in the dark...even YOU have a chance of winning the pool...

Is Jamie Foxx real?...somewhere down the line, somebody told him he was famous...he seems more like a Foo, to moi...

Back in to Prez Clinton times, the scandals were near impeachment...nowadays, it is more of a ho hum affair...right?...

Jennifer Aniston is single again...JJ, there you go...now this little tidbit...there is no evidence that she was even married to the bloke...man, them Hollywood cats...

Fox News...host...Laura Ingraham...was a little disturbed at the King, er LeBron James...as he spoke up at the lack of leadership...in his eyes of Prez T...she took offense to his comments, and told him 'to shut up and dribble'...this is acceptable journalism?...you tell me...

Well, I am off to the off track for some pony watching at Striders with Hdcp Andy...just might lay a quid on the Pick 5...at Santa Anita...

Now if I HIT that, I'd have a for sure...Peaceful Easy Feeling...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
