Friday Fables

Morning, kids...how you all doing today?...got your weekend planned?...me, too...hmmm, somebody already used that...oops...anyway, I have golf and two birthday bashes on the agenda...so diff each one of them, but shall be fun fun fun (Beach Boys)...

I have to lead again with Montecito...the word out of there is depressing...as the numbers have fluctuated all day, as to the accuracy of 'em...43 are still missing!...17 have lost their lives...many are still hospitalized...many rumors as to what actually caused the mudslides...the biggest one, is that the city's water holding tank...gave way...regardless, the 101 will not open until Monday...the train HAS opened...imagine the numbers riding on the Amtrak...as the city digs out...

The Cavs...what on earth?...absolutely falling apart...got drilled again by over 25...this time in Toronto...the King is not happy...in fact, there was video of him screaming at most everyone in a time out...ie, one of the coaches...here's the deal...they waited a long time for the Isiah Thomas player...as it turns out...had an injury...and returned heavy and slow...not a good combo for a short NBA dude...his play in particular puts them in a hole...that they can not recover from...

Oh my...shi_hole!...probably the most abusive word to describe a country...right?...many use it...but not the Prez...will take years, to counter what he said...regardless of their structure, they are our allies...whatever happened to taking the highroad?...not this regime...

You see any of this?...the Tonya Harding Spectacle...has a real movie made of it...where she may have been part of a gang land hit on her opponent for ice skating...sure you do...Nancy Kerrigan was the victim...and the 3 guys who orchestrated and did the hit, got prison time...Harding got off, if she admitted to a lesser charge...fined, community service...and had to endure a lifetime ban on skating...anyway, ABC did a special on it last eve...spent most of it, going back in time...and had Harding in studio...denying and blabbering about...and, unbelievably, admitted that she had heard the guys talking about the hit, prior to...what a piece...

I can't make this stuff up...but maybe I did...when Hoda got the anchor job on the NBC Today Show, I  made jest about her replacement on the Kathy Lee and Hoda Hour...said it could be Kris K...woaah, the word out is that she is lobbying for the spot....noooooooooooooo...

Carrie Underwood, along with Ludacris, released a song called 'Champion'...first of all, she can sang...2nd, this will be used throughout the run by whatever team emerges as the...champion...of the NFL...the analysts concede it will be the New England Patriots...not moi...I see another team...stay tuned to the Pittsburgh Steelers...just saying...

Well now...I was hoping that the football Giants, would hire 'Bama's Nick Saban...alas, no...the 2 leading candidates are the offensive and defensive coordinators of the...New England Patriots...you see, work for the best system, and you get hired...elsewhere...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
