When is a catch, not a catch?...in the waning moments of the New England/Pitt NFL game...it appeared that the Steeler receiver caught the game winner...and stretched the ball over the TD line...prior to being in contact with a defender...TOUCHDOWN!...wait a minute, maybe more like 4 or 5 minutes...the review center in NYC...well, somewhere back east...was addressing another issue...did the bloke have complete control of the ball as he hit the ground?...by rule, he did not...in slow motion!...in real time, he did...boooo....

Instead of winning the game...it was considered an incomplete pass...seeings that Pitt was on the 10 yard line...a chip shot FG would throw the game into OT...alas, no...the brain trust decided to 'fool' the Patriots...and attempt a pass...of course, it was a bust...NE intercepted it...and the game was over...off went the defeated Steelers, to a chorus of boos from their home town crowd...me, too...booo...and boo to the NFL, for a horrendous interpretation of...'a catch'...

Last night the LaLa Lakers held a special occasion for Kobe Bryant...retired his two jerseys that he wore while playing there...actually, that was his only team...countless former co-players were in attendance...the numbers 8 and 24 will never, ever be worn by another Laker...OK, he is deserved...the game itself...was beset with countless mistakes and poor play....that went to OT, before the injury riddled Warriors prevailed...

Awful news out of Olympia, Washington...an Amtrak derailed...the death toll is at 3...and many injuries...the conductor, on a newly patched up railway...hit a 30 mph curve, at 81 mph...man, what was he thinking?...so many Q's...

The Thomas Fire...2 terrific days to work on it...as the winds died down...as of last eve, it was at 45% contained...I guess that is good...if the pattern continues...the kids can return...I think that is the plan for today...

A good thing out of it...as they were staying with us...haven't seen them for quite awhile...and, Cris and I got to go golfing together yesterday...doesn't happen much anymore...so, there is the good with the bad...

Call me a softie...but...the Sound of Music...was on the other day...again...it is and was...a classic...and fun to get back into...and lose yourself...in the production...so many great tunes...

Haven't talked the Padres much...they are still in the hunt for the 1B Eric Hosmer...a bonafide stud...who will garner in the $100 million+ range for a 5 yr contract...from some team...the Xmas wish?...SD will be the one...

Remember Beetlemania?...I am referring to the VW's...yup, I have owned like 4?...let's see...a Passat, 2 Beetles, and Camper Van...lurved every one of them...I have a buddy who goes to a yearly party for the campers...I got the itch to get the new one, that will be unleashed next year...

Here is your real news...Selena and the Biebs are back together...and her mom is not taking the info too well...reported to be taken to the hospital for some unknown reason...well, the reason is in fact, known...

Say it isn't so...the latest stores that are closing...Toys R Us...not all of them...but, isn't this the way it starts?...hmmm, you will soon have this to choose from...Amazon, Walmart, or Costco...right?...

Oh yea, we have the Boca Raton Bowl...what?...Florida Atlantic vs Akron...who you got?...well, I am going with the Floridian team...BTW, doesn't that ring a bell more like a newspaper, than a college?....Ok, I got them Owls for a big win!
