We're Back!

With just a snappy 5 hour flight...we are back...into the land of Diego...I must say a welcome sight...as our dog, Sammi, was a awaiting...thx again to the Miracle Mackles for lodging the baby dawg....!...we did miss her...

This trip to Maui had it's moments...the initial hit of a thousand lightning strikes, was a shock...and then, the entire island went out of power...some said it was like 50 years since that had happened...it all changed in a couple of days...and normalcy prevailed...what a place!...

It did seem that there were more people there than in the past...however, at the airport, everything went quicker than ever...BTW, they are remodeling their ancient one...much needed...odd, though, as the traffic was much more congested...not figuring it out...could be that there is but one road in and out of Kaanapali...

We have returned to the same place at Aston Kaanapali Shores...15 straight years...they give us a deal for returning...terrific spot to squat...nice restaurant, 2 swimming pools, 2 hot tubs, and a decent bar...right on the beach...the rooms are spacious...needless to say, we love it there...and we will be back next year...

This time around we did more swimming, eating, and imbibing...ha ha...we took our noodles and bobbed about...had a wonderful time...didn't even golf...my decision...did go to Paia ( pronounced pie-eee-a) a couple of times...cuz we needed to go back to buy a piece of artwork...forever the consumers...

The reason for the change of timing of the trip?...Lahaina's Halloween...they estimate 30,000 people in attendance...it was fun...as we dressed up as Dr Cannibis and his sidekick, Nurse Ratchet...let's just say this...it is too hot to wear them disguises too long...ha ha...here's the gig...they close down the entire main drag of the harbor...people just walk the streets...all dressed up...much like what I envision Mardi Gras to be in N'Orleans...never been there...huge police presence...and no boobs flashing that I could see...dang...but, I will show what I did capture on film...here...

A thing that we are lusting after...huli huli chicken...finally, we did find it at Duke's...but, alas, nowhere else...supposedly, they will pop up on the roadsides...in the parks...home made huli huli...not that we could find this time around...hmmm, next year...

OK, the highlight of the trip?...on our evening dinner cruise on the ocean...we saw a whale!...the captain was more thrilled than us, if you can imagine...she says that she has been doing the same gig for like 30 years, and it's her first sighting!...I took a video that didn't do it justice...but still...

Other stuff...

We did watch a whole gaggle of TV...man, do we miss high def...ha ha...them Astros winning the World Series was way cool...deserved it in me book, as they were the better team...with the city underwater and all, it always seems like there is more to the story...

The tragedy in NYC...Prez T and I have the same feelings about the killer...he deserves the harshest penalty we have...he's not a martyr, but a murderer...

The Ducks beat Utah!...this was on my iPhone...that was way cool...I gave UO no chance...and what I am hearing, is that the injured QB has been taking snaps with the 1st squad...in prep for the Dawgs...who are a monstrous 26 1/2 point favs...wooah....upset city?...

Is this thinger with the Trump Cabinet and former parts of it, so similar to the Watergate thinger of the 70's?...one by one...well, you know...

And...Donna Brazille...the gal who has been a major player in the DNC...just released a bit...which is a LOT...that the last DNC 'rigged' the Demos' election of Hillary...hmmm, like the Horse has been saying all along...

Well, I have the day to start handicapping the Breeder's Cup...which we are going to, tomorrow!...and unpacking...and, whatever...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
