Had a blast writing yesterday's blog of 1969...it was a stupefying time in my life and apparently, for many others...who lived through it...so much that transpired, to put it in such a quick format, was probably doing some of it...injustice...the one that you must go back to...is Woodstock...rent the DVD, er Blu--ray, or whatever you watch...now...
PBS had a show on last night featuring the latest recipient of the Mark Twain 'Humor' Award...er, something like that...the winner was David Letterman...beard and all...it was a hoot and if, you have the chance...watch the rerun...it was good stuff...following it was a disturbing piece of film...
'Arms for sale'...going thru the past when the Saudi's ran rampant on buying all types of armed goods...chilling...the process of...and the shameful birth of our very own, Dick Chaney backed...Blackwater...we have no idea what really goes on...you know, we have another combat force ready to go...mercenary types who are paid, probably better than the real US Forces they once were in...
Calm down Horse...on to greener pastures...so to speak...we are going to hit the highway and go up to Temecula today...visit some of their fine wineries there...they have some doozies, kids...fill up our vault with some fresh whites and reds...well, if that doesn't sound like the foundation of this 'Holiday', I don't know what does...the color of skin that started this whole Thanksgiving thing...right?...or so THEY say...
CNN did the unthinkable...actually brought to their broadcast the daddy of the Ball clan...to give his side of the story...as one of his kids was caught shoplifting in China...as a UCLA Bruin...you know the drift...Prez T used his influence to get the kid off and back into the country...done...but the daddy, slighted the Prez...good lord, shut up...who cares what he says?...c'mon CNN, you are better than that...maybe not...
Hey, you want a recipe for some grrrreattt fresh cranberries?...and it is, I must add...to serve, rather than opening up a can of Ocean Spray...here we go...take a bag of the berries, minus a cup of 'em...set them aside...in a pan put the berries, one cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons or so, of orange juice...cook on low, stirring about 10 minutes...add salt and pepper, and turn the heat up until the berries burst...like maybe 3-5 minutes...then add the rest of the berries, and a pinch of cinnamon...simmer on low for about 8 minutes...put in a bowl and refrigerate...I give you the best, the best Jerry!, cranberries you will ever serve...trust the Horse...
