SDSU had a terrific opponent in Northern Illinois...solid everywhere and totally under-rated...even though they had gone into Lincoln, and beat Nebraska earlier...their D centered on stopping the ace RB Penney of the Aztecs...for the most part, they did that...so, SDSU went to the air...eventually, got the ball to Penney, and eeked out the victory...34-28...have not heard the attendance figures yet...BTW, the first time they have started 5-0 since 1975!...
The Ducks hammered the Bears of Cal...it took a while...as their top 3 offensive weapons, either got hurt early on, or didn't even suit up...what is diff about this year's UO team?...the D...new direction and are able to figure things out...won it by 3 td's and well, let's hope that the injured can play in the next game...against the mighty Cougs...yup, the Horse will be there...pumped...
Some other games that went in the books....Troy beat LSU and the upset will doom the new coach...egads, stuff happens...'Bama is for real, kids...as they put up 66 on Mississippi...ouch!...Army didn't cover the 24, but did beat UTEP...the Dawgs in a rout over the Beavs...more of the same...Georgia routed Tennessee...Clemson got Virginny Tech...the east teams will dominate the polls...and maybe rightfully so...

Well, we took the tram to La Mesa's Octoberfest...it was a great thing, almost...the price was right...$10 for both of us...but on our trip back...the connection from the Orange Line to the Green Line...was off 16 minutes...so we walked back from the station...12 blocks...well, we do have good weather...hey, Snookie, like walking to where you park at the Duck game...
