Let's Get Ready To Rumble!

Let me start out by saying this...boxing is a brutal sport...no one ever talks about concussions when it's brought up...as that is what ya'll want to do, beat the guy brainless...I guess...knock him out!...then you WIN...hmmm, so what is the fascination?...knowing it is this vicious battle of two blokes...as I was growing up, Cassius Clay, then Mohammed Ali, was the wonder of the sport...and we rarely missed a bout of his...others followed...

Seemingly, the concept of brawling...died off...until this MMA(Mixed Martial Artist) thing came out...where you could pretty much do anything in it... a caged up area...shoot, bring in the gals to do it, too...they have their champs...I dunno, maybe a cross between boxing and rassling...kick boxing and well, whatever...there is an audience, just not my thing...

Anyway...there is a cross over bout to happen this Saturday in Vegas (duh, where else?)...as a pure boxer is taking on a MMA champ...to see if there is parity, I suppose....betting on it, is fast and furious...the hype has been tremendous...really...of course, there is the pay for view...it ain't free, kids...locally, our fav watering hole, Barleymash, has it on screen...I think it costs you $50 to enter and watch the fight...shoot, you can order from your cable company, too...

OK, the two combatants are these dudes...the boxer is Floyd Mayweather, Jr...40 yrs old...eek, a problem maybe...and yet, undefeated...who may not have the strength anymore to knock a guy out...and is black...I will tell you the reason I said this in the next paragraph...and the opponent...is the MMA guy, and Euro...Conor McGregor...28 yrs old...brash and boldly predicting that he will knock Mayweather out in the 1st round...hype?...you betcha...oh yea, and he is white...

One of my weekly daily views on ESPN...PTI...Pardon The Interruption...features two sports jockeys...who banter the sporting news of the day...and one of them went too far, in my estimation, yesterday...Mike Wilbon...who boldly stated that the reason more people were betting on McGregor...is that he is white...what?...give me a break...that nonsense, in this sport...has left the arena decades ago...and he is trying to resurrect it....

Interested?...somehow I got swallowed up into it...but, not to shell out big bucks to gander...I'll wait for the replay...ha ha...and...I will be waiting for instant stuff...does the Horse have a prediction?...nope, but I am leaning towards the boxer...it's just the age thinger that is holding me back....

Finally, this is the day we head on out to Del Mar and take in the them real horses...a treat for moi...and can't believe that Marsh has agreed to the trip...hmmm, she must want something...

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
