LaLa Land

Not sure how the San Diego Symphony is gonna do this...as the theme for the night is 'LaLa Land'...it is the party at the park...well, over at the Bay...where they pay tribute to the film...not sure if I recall any songs from it...oh well, it's in our package, so off we go to see whatever they drum up...

Oh yea, the mean, clean machine of them Padres are in Chavez Ravine for a 3 spot with the Bums...who just are heralded as the best team in MLB right now...deservedly...but...hold de phone...as SD got a W...what?...hit 3 dingers...played excellent D...survived the pitching of Clay Richards...and utilized the 'closing' role of Brad Hand...ah hem, NOT in the 7th...but in his normal spot at the end!...well, he had to finish off the 8th first...a 4 out close...go figure...

I'm not sure of the reason...but we revisited 'Urban Cowboy'...the flick starring John Travolta and Debra Winger...it was fun!...it was the time that I switched over to country music...back then, I mean...the 1st time I saw it...'Looking for Love' by Johnny Lee...hey wait, I remember now...the scene with the hot chick in the high rise in Dallas...the music was by Boz...'Look What You've Done To Me'...can't figure out why JT (alias Bud) would choose Debra (Sissy) over that gal (Pam)...ha ha...c'mon...

Kevin Kisner...leading the PGA at Quail Hollow in North Carolina...never been there...hmmm...there is a run at him...Hideke Matsuyama, who is like the hottest golfer on the planet right now...tied him in the dark...finish of round 2...there are others lurking, i.e. Jason Day...I will say this...when Jason gets his putter going...he is the one to beat...but...I know nuttin...

Staying in the south...unrest at the University of Virginia...this is the era of tearing down statues of the Civil War leaders in that part of the US...the south leaders...Robert E Lee is the one that is to be replaced...white people protesting...geez...how do you feel about it?...I dunno, it is history...a bad part of the growth of the country...I'm torn...

Prez T reassured the Mayor of Guam a 1,000% support of the island...first of all, 100% is all it takes...that's complete...and, 2ndly, in the sports world, once you get 100% or 1,000%...it is imminent that you will get fired...right?...this isn't sports and there is no doubt...NO DOUBT...we will be there immediately...there you go...2,000%...whatever...

Let's see...the LPGA is covering up the ladies...and the PGA is allowing the dudes to wear shorts...hey, I even saw Paul Ryan in a wife beater shirt...something is amiss...

I mentioned yesterday about a rookie QB...I had the wrong team he is trying to make...should be Da Bears...not the Viks...bad Horse...turned on to another preseason game...SF and KC...knew none of 'em...hey, where is Chip Kelly now?...

Quickees...the judge from Colorado...threw out the DJ's case against Taylor Swift...duh...but her countersuit is still on the docket...Daphne is leaving the Chew...what?...the nooner cook show on ABC...yes, we watch it...nobody is watching the 'Life of Kylie'...ratings probs, but alas, Mama Kris, has intervened...who eats fruitcake?...are you counting the days for the iPhone 8?...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
