Juiced?

The fans delight...going to a ball park and watch teams score runs...lots of 'em...and even better, the blokes belting home runs, dingers, taters, er, the loooong ball...and this season...the ball is being knocked out of the park...ALL parks... at a rate...better than ever...even more so than the 'steroids era' of 2000...the numbers are staggering...at a pace of over 6,000 for the season...hmmm...

Are the pitchers worse?...are the batters better?...are the bats firmer?...or, are the balls made differently?...like 'JUICED?'...the commissioner, Rob Manfred, says nope...Rawlings, the ball makers, say nope...but...the pitchers who throw them...say otherwise...silently, for the most part...think about this...June was the biggest month of them home runs hit...in the HISTORY of the game...

A parallel...is to another game that 'the long ball' is evident in...golf...where the courses are being swallowed up by the pros, who hit it further than ever...before...the legendary pro, Jack Nicklaus...says it's the ball...sure, the titanium changed the drivers...but the ball is better...his theory?...reduce the compression of the balls...are you listening baseball?...or, do you like what is going on...I think, the latter...

I can't even fathom the shootings in Chicago...at least 15 killed, and over 100 shot...in the 4th of July weekend!!!...the plight of the state...and the lack of moneys to keep it afloat...over 1,000 cops hired to keep the city safe...and to no avail...right?...guns...and the availability of 'em...part..of the issue...there are areas, that you just don't want to go into...apparently...can't this be stopped?...

Had to include this...on our bike ride yesterday...a US ship was going out to sea...and we had a tremendous amount of pride in these sailors...just had to show...over 600 of 'em serving our country...

OK, the remembrance factor...as we were bee bopping on the dance floor...there was a song that everyone that could...was boogying to...and there was a thought that it could have been the Biebs...NOPE!...it was JT, like in Justin Timberlake...terrific beat...and such a good one...'Can't Stop The Feeling'...

Heat wave...rare for SD...is to grab us this week...might even have to turn on our AC...

You still get real mail?...just kidding...but in ours yesterday, we got a letter from Southwest Airlines...in it was some drink coupons...has to be an omen...to travel somewhere...let's see, where do we need to go?...

Lawdy, we gots to break up the Padres!....have won 3 in a row...what?...ie, the series in Cleveland, where we have beat the entire 'Indian Nation' there...mop up time today, and then off to Philly to beat up on them dudes...this done without the bat (obviously) of our star, Wil Myers...as he has K'd like 8 of 9 times at bat...wait, don't use 'bat' in that sentence...let's see, the angle of the contact point is...wait, you gots to HIT the ball to use it...

This little tidbit...that nobody is airing...but moi...South Korea has fired a missile...like a test one...is this like a comparable show of strength?...you think?...the Koreas are in the extreme danger zone...

World leaders in Germany...including ours...now...let's hope...well, there are issues that must be addressed...you got some?...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
