Boxing

Say what?...let's just say it was NOT my intent to watch this...I was trying to follow the latest Padre debacle on the pixels...yet another pathetic effort by the home team...or, for you Bum fans, another night of complete domination over the "Madres", as this team is called by one of my LA friends...the humiliation of it all...anyway...

I turned the channel to ESPN...there must be something better on...alas, there was an extravaganza on...BOXING!...what?...they still have that sport?...a champ fight...in Australia...so...I watched the hype for it...Manny Pacquaio...I have heard of him...champ for many years out of the Philippines...and the local hero from the homeland, as their "Rocky"...John Horn...oops, sorry John, make that Jeff Horn...12 rounds of boxing...

Hey...I have been there...it's the sport that has many, and, make that frequent, bouts of questionable outcomes...where the results aren't revealed by a round by round basis...but at the end...unless, there is a knockout...sooo...I would not be surprised if it was sketchy...ha ha...

Let's just say...it was a doozy...in my mind, like old times...the announcing?...dreadful...the boxing?...exciting...the voices led you to believe that Manny was dominating...hmmm...other than the 9th round, I thought the opposite...Horn was the aggressor...oh yea...the 3 judges had the Aussie winning...the NEW, something CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!...

Is this a return to the free boxing matches, in lieu of the pay for view?...I dunno, something tells me this resembles pro rasslin...but last night's fight was real...not exactly sure of the judging...it is what it is...

Oh yea...the results of the Bum/Padres fray?...8-0...yet another embarrassment...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
