Fragile

There's nuttin you can do...nuttin...even the brilliant mind of Gregg Popovich, er 'Pop'...can heal a bum ankle...in record time...it is the will of the body, to mend itself...you try to get on it, er play on it, too soon...and it becomes more aggravated...such is the plight of the West's Best Player, Kawhi Leonard...San Antonio's clear leader...and their team...

Yup, Kawhi felt that he could go...he did...and the Spurs were romping...in NoCal!...gulp, up 25!!!!...you are reading that right...and then...the ankle gave way...a couple of times...hey, I have been there...as a player and as a coach...try as you may, it doesn't work...takes at least a couple of weeks...too soon, add another week...Pop should know this...

And then...another BOOM!...and this was the Warriors exploding...the crowd was delirious and momentum had switched...and records fell...as GS came back and got the W...I have to add this...the Spurs had opps to put it away, still...but the ball fell into the hands of former Blazer, LaMarcus Aldridge...who did NOT hit...and one of the pundits laid this out...the closer the game got to the end, the further away Aldridge got from the hoop...just like he did in PDX...ha ha ha...

Shoot...another fall apart game...the mighty Pads...cruising into the bottom of the 8th in Chi-town...up 3-1, after a 3 run dinger by the prospect, Hunter Renfroe...and the roof fell in...SD gave up 8 runs...yup, 8!!!...Mgr Green called it pathetic, the worst thing he has seen on this level...wait, what level is this?...as the Padres, are now wallowing in the basement of the West...again...2-9 in their last 11 games...sorry, kid, but you have the worst pitching staff in all of beisbol...er, at YOUR level...blame goes squarely on GM Preller...it's true...

So much for the experts saying that experience wins the Players...as the victor was the 21 yr old South Korean, Si Woo Kim...who played the course like a vet...chipped and putted marvelously...beat the course and the comp...with a closing 69...listen, there is water on 16 of the 18 holes...eventually the agua is gonna get ya...not Kim...and a very worthy win...

We watched the SNL that we taped...and the Melissa McCarthy sketch was funny...but, like many of the other SNL Shows...lately, the rest of the show was NOT funny, or even mildly good...reminded me of my younger days...buying a record...when the hit song was put on vinyl...you'd buy it, and the rest of the songs on the disc were filler..same thing...no bueno...wait for the playback of the lead, and call it good....don't waste your time on the other...

Miss USA...you watch this?...calm down, kids...gandered for a bit...found it odd that one of the hosts was Julianne Hough...anyway, they have one of the key parts to the competition...the ever important 'question session'...well now, apparently the judges were mostly conservatives...or, they didn't hear the answer to the eventual winner they crowned...or, it didn't matter what she had to say...you take your pick..."health care is a privilege, not a right"...yup, there is your winner...representing Washington DC...can't make this up...SNL, were you listening?...

Now, many of you baseball purists are gonna have at me for this...but...I dig honoring number 2 of the New York Yankees...Derek Jeter...enshrining him...plaquing him...all that he deserves...nobody will ever wear the number 2 again for the Yanks...that does it...all the single digit numbers are gone for them...ridiculous...he and those others shall be enshrined...but, the numbers?... c'mon...

Hmmm, I think the Padres should shelve all number 8's after last night...giving up 8 in the 8th...no Pad shall ever wear the number 8 again, forever...wait, put it on GM's Preller's sleeve... he can hit the road with the number going with him...bitter, am I bitter?...

Like BREAKING NEWS!...call it insane, or maybe insanity...Skinny Girl founder...and product of the Housewives of NYC...Betheny Frankel...is to be a new 'shark' on NBC's 'Shark Tank'...WTH?...Q for u...how many of the 'Housewives' are truly housewives?...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
