Sunday Silence

Morning, kids...nothing like the calm and silence of a Sunday morn...right?...trying to digest what just went down...and get it out to ya"ll...bouts of rain and sunshine filled up the Saturday here in SoCal...that's enuff, Mother Nature...'but we need it' has gone it's course...also, the blog title today is of an awesome race horse...

Dem Padres made a major move to improve, well, at least, shore up a starter...in their rotation...signed Jered Weaver...a life long employee of the Cali Angels...he is a craft master at the position...as his fast ball is now topping out at 83 mph...oh my...and last season gave up the 2nd most dingers in the league...only topped by the newly SD departed gopher prepping Shields...geez...

Kyrie Irving...the star PG of them Cleveland Cavs...sort of put himself out there on his scientific rant about the Earth...referred to it as flat...ha ha...yessireee Bob...hard to argue with the bloke, as all he can see as far as the naked eye can...is flatness...yup...I dig it...the earth is flat...next topic?...

NoLa, is what they call New Orleans, Louisiana...all right, better than mine...I"ll go with that...the All Star Game...one of it's attractions is the slam dunking title...which has fallen off the face of this flat ground...only 4 dudes showed up for it...and...one of them is fresh off of the D League...to say it was boooring, is an understatement...

The game itself is today...normally a YMCA show of running up and down the floor...no D...loads of them dunks, that were mysteriously missing the day prior...hey, I got it...give the dunk title to the best dunk in the game...there you go...problem solved...they feature the home town guy...the bloke with them eye brows...Anthony Davis...wowser...BTW, the franchise is now called the Pelicans...what?...of course, the underlining story is if Westbrook and Durant can patch things up...rekindle their bromance...ha ha...

36 holes...at least the holes are round, Kyrie...is what the PGA guys are doing today at Riviera in LA...the other LA...Dustin Johnson appears to be lined up to snag this...but...there are so many blokes close by...he hits it sooo long and straight...will take the entire day to figure this one out...

Betsy DeVos...the new Sec of Ed...for this nation... started out with a bang...went to a local DC School...at first, said nice things...later, talked of changes needed...and infuriated the staff...get used to it, kids...the needle has just pierced the skin...it's gonna hurt...

We had dinner at a terrific spot last night in the Headquarters...just a couple of blocks west of us...at Eddie V's...loads of room...and set up quite nicely...where one can actually carry on a conversation...one might say, 'romantic'...if one were to say that type of thing...the food was good, albeit a bit spendy...give it a B+...the service, an A+...there you go...

Under the radar...well, probably not...the US has moved a carrier into the South China Sea...I continue to say this...we read and hear more of what this regime is doing, than of any prior...must be cuz the press just doesn't trust what is going on...duh...we call it 'routine patrols'...ha ha, by the ship, not the press...well, thinking about it...both...

Well now, Kyrie...if your thinking is legit...the sailing of that vessel to get over yonder...this expanse that we live on. must be beyond our comprehension...works for me...we live on an elongated piece of land and water...just goes on and on and on....

Finally, BS...that's Blake Shelton...he is touring this flat land of the USA...gonna be here next month...yup, got tix...he is THAT good, kids...trust the Horse on this...was in LA the last few days...and try out his 'Best of" cd...you will be hooked...
