La La Land

Alas, the clan finally did see the 'it' movie..."La La Land"...and it wasn't close by...so we had to travel all the way to the community of Hillcrest...yup, it was yet another Uber ride...to the cinema house that was...wait for it...way cool...

First of all, there were a gazillion amounts of workers...what?...the one near us, has maybe 3...service was super...at a theater!...albeit, not cheap...$20 to get in (couple) and $20 for popcorn and Coke...secondly, the seats...were electric and recliners!...and lots of room between rows...the sound system was superior to the old types...OK, you are def set up for a good time...

The movie...a bit long, maybe...just a tad over 2 hours...and it wasn't a true musical...like I anticipated...not nearly as much song and dance as like "Dream Girls", or "Grease"...you get the idea...the lead actors, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, were both excellent in their roles...and just may win the Oscars...they were not perfect, as their singing and dancing was not, too...but, seemed more real cuz of it...I think he carried the story line...in all, a fun one to watch...

Our guests, Larry and Barb Gahr...pictured here on the bike ride to the Point Loma Fish House...were loads of fun...I forgot to get permission to use their photo for today's blog...oh well, here it is anyway...and my caption is...cycling in "Sa Do City"...horrific play on words for the aforementioned flick, based on the monstrous city just north of us...my pardon...

My final Q...does Ryan Gosling really have the skills of playing the piano that he showed in the movie?...if so, he is a mighty talented dude...I sense it is real...however, I still like him best, in the Rachel McAdams co-starred classic, "The Notebook"...the ultimate tear jerker...you ever see it?...

The line...as you all know, I follow them bookies....had the Bevos getting 17 1/2 points versus the Cal  Bears...they got clobbered by 30...I thought that it wasn't enuff...ha ha, they were wrong...if I were a betting man, I'd a taken them Bears...right...

We are gonna try to get the seats for the "Breeders Cup" with Hdcp Andy and his mate, Carly...on sale in the first week of March...now I do bet on these things, er , them hosses....for you not in the know...this event is for the best horses in the world...out at Del Mar later this year...

Your DNC is choosing a new Chair...here's a hint for you who do the picking...fuggit about Hilz as your next candidate...please...oops, too much narrative out of  the Horse's boca...

Flip and Flop...appears that Flip flagged her latest beau, and made him fly the coup...no response yet from Flop, who keeps his comments on the Flip, to himself...

Is it just me, or are there more leaks in the the present government, than in that NoCal leaking damn?...

$90...the rumor that the hit woman got paid for the killing of the North Korean relative, Kim Jong Na...if something smells fishy, well...it must be...

C'mon government...is it ISIS or ISIL?...Prez O said it was the latter...the Pentagon says it's the former...inquiring minds want to know...

At some point in time, even TBS or TNT, has to reprimand their outspoken dude of NBA hoops...Chas Barkley...his rants are getting edgier and edgier...and...too personal...

Former Prez O is now a rock star...he needs to get back into the government in some fashion for the good of us all...after his retirement...I call it his spring break...

The bike ride made me hurt hammy feel good...hmmm...to the bikes, Batman!
