Macy's

Where are we going with this?...Macy's is closing 68 of their stores, throughout the US...10,000 jobs...gone...I bring this up, as it has more implications than meet the eye...our malls have key 'big stores' at the corners of them...that help the smaller ones...and when one of them biggees folds, who is next?...my fear, is that the way we shop will change...drastically...along the way...many daily jobs go with it...

Locally, we had a Nordstrom's close in the mall...disaster!...one of the corner hubs...the problem is...there is nothing going in to replace it...hmmm...are we heading to the big box stores and the web net, ONLY?!...don't you like to go down to the mall and touch and feel what you want to buy?...is this going away?...and...the working force gets hit...more Sears are closing...rumors of JC Penneys...the list is growing...dang...

BREAKING!!!!...the floodgates are now open...Sears and Kmart following suit...Kohl's next...all closing underperforming stores...must have had a bad Xmas season...duh...

Hope is the key word for the PGA Tour...well, cuz the present and past day, driver of the face of it...is returning...Tiger Woods...will play in our Farmer's T out at Torrey Pines...the course has had it's North 18 redone...wonder how the dudes will like (or dislike) the change...they used to score well on the old one...the South is simply long...way long...even for the pro's...BTW, the boys are in Maui this week...rumor has it that Kapalua is way soggy...lots of rain this past month...

PDX took it's sorry arse club to Alameda for the monthly drilling by them Warriors...the Blazers had a good 1st half, especially McCollum...but, the GS HC, Steve Kerr, did some coaching at half...trapped the heck out of CJ in the 2nd...game over...and have I told you how good Kev Durant is?...huge pickup for the Bay Area team...

You got your bets in on the NFL playoffs?...yea, me neither...Texans and Raiders...both teams have their QB's hurt...ouch...anyway, the Pack plays and I'll watch that...but not wager...never, ever, bet on the NFL...ha ha...the rest of the country can't say that...

Follow up stories...the 'best pillow' dude is making a statement that the BBB is totally wrong...yes, he is trying to save his arse...the almighty $ is flying away...Brent Musberger is getting more and more flak for his comments on the Oklahoma FB bloke...like he should hang up his microphone...the Duke Coach K...reminder here...suspended his star player for tripping...his 3rd time...'indefinite time'...turned out to be...wait for it...one game...ha ha...the infinite is definitely one game...

Odd...how else can you say this...when your team is playing for the D-1 Champ...and you let your OC leave...or fire him...or mutually part ways...or let him go to his new team...whatever...'Bama...let OC Kiffin go...and the newbie has one week to prepare for the game with his new team...odd...if I would bet, it would be on Clemson...however...the Tide's D is pert near a Pro one...that good...

The pots and pans world...settled on the Calphalon...as Costco had the ones I wanted...off we went to that big box store...I know, you are calling me a dude who speaks from both sides of my mouth...the take back policy is the difference and the best...well...they didn't have them in the store...so, I used both of the things I talked about at the beginning of the blog...ordered it online...from them...geez, maybe I get it...
