Bolted!

They gone...geez, the Charger ownership has been threatening to do it...for at least 5 years...finally have done the deed...they are moving their franchise to La La Land...in hopes that the grass is greener up yonder...

This once proud team...the San Diego Chargers...the darlings of the south land...rich in tradition back in the AFL days and the better of it all in the late 90's and the early 00's...with the likes of many stars...Lance Alworth...Dan Fouts...LT...Antonio Gates...Nick Harwick...John Hadl...Paul Lowe...Junior Seau...the list goes on...who were part of a great thing...until...

The ownership altered things...Alex Spanos and now his offspring...blatant mismanagement at the top of the list...as the team began it's extreme fall from grace...his son, Dean, has shouldered most of the blame...deservedly...the end has been awful...the past season filled with embarrassing losses...but worse, the ploy of the bosses that they were staying...the public didn't buy it...and sold their tix to any team coming to this grand land to play...often seemed like a home game for the visitor...

A decade ago when we arrived in San Diego...the Bolts were THE thing around here...you couldn't get a ticket to the game...and then...the ugly ownership changed all that...blew apart what was such a cherished part of this area...and now...off they go...taking their beat up ball and vacating...to, get this, a 30,000 seat stadium...in the interim....ha ha...FOX LA did a poll...what % of the public wanted that franchise in LA?...82% said NO!!!!...another wise decision Spanos Fam...

So...we are delegated to a one horse town...the Padres...and are waiting for an NFL team that wants to move to this bloody 70* degree year round climate...just itching to root for a properly run team that needs a change...ha ha...here's hoping that the Spanos lose their ass....and we get a good un...Jaguars, are you interested?...and...this from the web net...the new Charger logo...ha ha


Other stuff...

Have to start with the bum thumb...finally got to see the ortho Doc...it is a 'trigger thumb' like I thought...had a decent idea what he would do...after studying it on the web net...two possible solutions...cortisone shots...that would have a 70% chance of fixing it...he recommended it...and if that doesn't do the job...an op on it...in the office...hmmm...well, I took the shots...egads, hurt like hell...but, the Horse did NOT pass out...this morning?...already better...he said I'd know in a couple of days...fingers crossed...

PDX...what the heck?...dominated the Cavs from the get go...the World Champs!...and easily took it to the visitors...hey, Cleve is in a 'on the road' set of games...got beat by the Jazz the nite before...there you go, an excuse...is there promise for the Blazers?...hmmm...hey, the Cavs have the Kings and the Warriors next...bet, they'll play a bit better...a lot better...

Planned protests are in the works this next week...against the Prez-Elect...the "stars" from Hollywood are behind some of it...their rationale?...they needed to be doing all this prior to the election...I can't see any good out of it...unless, you want to divide the country as much as you can...think he is gonna resign?...hey, I voted Demo, too...but, we have to get on with it...do as much as we can to make it good...not bad...I'll bet they are making loads of $ in their stocks...

I know keep drilling this through your brain...but, I just don't see any merit in the planned protests...how does this make our country better?...I understand their frustrations...I get that...but...let's see what the product is...

You know, I am a bit serious about the religion issue...shhhh, don't tell anyone...dang, that Nashville scene is more and more appealing to moi....shhhh....

Hey, for what reason is this?...the stock market has been a huge plus...why?...look at your numbers, and I bet you are feeling good about 'em...why?...

Obamacare...here's an item that the Hollywood 1% don't fret over...just may get repealed...hmmm...what takes it's place?...going back to the free enterprise system?...

The Horse is actually excited about the upcoming Pack and Cowboys game...glad I'm not there...them 'Boys don't like northerners much...wait, I'm from SoCal...OK, then...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
