Bad Timing

Morning, kids...this might just not sit well with you today...hmmm...hear me out...all the way...geez, I set you up for something that is not much like what the Horse says...usually...it starts with the, and well, ends with the Golden Globes...did you watch it?...the Hollywood Foreign Press Awards...whoever they are...that honor the past year's, in their eyes, best flicks and pixel shows...and the stars thereof...OK, that is the set up...

As the show was sailing along in the fantasy land of the screen, both big and little...where the pretty people picked up the awards...hey, the most honored was the musical, "La La Land"...that won most everything possible...all the parts...and really became a celebration of the movie...I've wanted to see it for awhile now...it's not at our local theater...boo...another story for another time...

The telecast was moving a bit slow...these all seem to do so...and then...it slowed...waaaayyyy down...time for the bit to give the award for a lifetime achievement...to the celebrated actress, Meryl Streep...and she decided to turn the acceptance speech into a political statement...OK...what she said was of merit...however, it was about Prez-Elect Trump...she emphasized where some of her fellow stars actually were from...outside of the US...border thinger...actually said that if they weren't there, who'd the people watch?...give me a break...then she went into the bullying thing...yes, that part was was right on...except...the TIMING...

Where was this when it actually had some influence?...like before the election...where her fellow Demos stayed away from the polls in millions...and allowed who she so eloquently ripped apart, to get elected...why didn't she travel around the country and say what she needed to?...that if she was so passionate about it...but...to do so after it's all said and done...left me a bit angry...I believe that her message now...was designed to tear this country further apart...NOT what we need right now...

So...my good friend from the east...sent me some footage of Streep talking Hilz...before...I stand corrected...she talked before and after...there you go...feel better?...NO!...I still blame the DNC for sabotaging Bernie's campaign...and this...is another story altogether...right?

Hmmm...it put a dagger in the show for sure...the mood switched to somber...and I felt bad for the best actress award that was won by the La La Land gal, Emma Stone...the swagger and fun was gone...it was all about Meryl...and what SHE thought...too bad...

Soooo...all my sources have this as a major topic...hey, it's not the message that bugged me...it was the TIMING of it...what say you?...

OK, other Horse stuff...

The Pack woke up and drilled them NY Giants...am not a believer in little Manning...and set up the biggee of the NFL....the one that many football fans have as their favs...Green Bay and Dallas...should be a great game...and the league is ecstatic...the pixel numbers should be off the charts...it's in Texas at that monstrosity of a stadium...been there and hated it...

Same path for the Warriors...who were sleep walking in Sac town...woke up and beat Boogie's Kings...rumor is that the Cap City team is gonna throw $200 million at Cousins to keep him...egads...nobody is worth that amount  of dough...nobody...

PDX lost again...in the PNW to the Pistons in OT...somebody take the ball out of Plumlee's hands...the coach won't...there is a reason that he is open, dude...figure it out...

Later this month, Tiger is coming to play at the Farmer's...dang, I can't get out there...company and all...the crowd will be huge...at least for the 1st two days...stop it Horse...BTW,  Justin Thomas won over at Kapalua...22 under...yea, right...

See above...Prez-Elect Trump commented on Streep's speech...called her 'over-rated'...lordy...now this is BAD TIMING, too...

I dunno kids...just not sure where we are going...maybe Meryl has something after all...I'm at a loss for words...I guess we just have to strap ourselves in and see where this ride is going...

Ooops...forgot the D-1 Champ game...Clemson over 'Bama....take the 6 1/2 points...shoot, I don't care...

 The Horse rests...

 BTW...just got a wild feeling that this will be my most hit blog ever...EVER!...record is 134....

First time I've watched Golden Globe Awards. I'm not a tv buff but this snow has me searching for indoor distraction.
Cheers to Meryl Streep for taking advantage of the spotlight...time will if our newly elected president will be "of the people, by the people, for the people". As for more divided due to Meryl's words, I beg to differ. Praying for peace and goodwill towards all :)

Didn't watch, don't care about Hollywood elites. I am disappointed that she couldn't use her platform to condemn the police shootings, terrorism or attacks on the mentally disabled just to name a few. I guess that would have been too much reality for her.

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
