Castro Death
Hey ya"ll...we are back from our mini-vacay to Vegas...had a great time...and thanks be to the Mirage for a very thrifty stay...MLife member...just let you know, it was an incredible deal...for 3 nights...so what's been going on in the real world?...
The number one thing is the death of Fidel Castro...at 90...who brought turbulence to our area of the Earth, for sure...so many conflicting stories about he and JFK...who was trying to kill who...regardless, he was a life changer...for many in that tiny little island of Cuba...rumors abound that there could be a resurgence of democracy back in the country...many exiles, who vacated to Miami, are ecstatic...that they can reclaim their land...hmmm...this story is just beginning...
Weird that so many of my last blogs have been about the arch enemy of Castro, the Kennedys...I still think he had a hand in the assassination of JFK...there were too many ties that bound the likes of accused 'Lee Harvey Oswald' to the Cuban leader...so many books written on it...great reads...
How was your Thanksgiving?...judging by the number of pix on Facebook, it went well for many of you...I'll tell you this much, I have never seen so many people in LV...fuggit about the buffet at the Mirage...the line was legendary...so we opt for the Pantry and got one of the best turkey meals we have ever had...at our leisure...and did NOT overeat...ha ha...
We did a walk down the entire (almost) Vegas strip on Thanksgiving Day...hey, weaving through all the people was an obstacle in itself...got to New York New York for a NY dawg...and motsa ball soup...just to tide us over for the big gazoomba....I'm not sure if any of these are actual words...anyway, worked up quite the appetite...
Black Friday and all the rest that follow...your webnet shopping can be very fruitful...I don't know about you, but I get so many ads on my phone...and I constantly 'unsubscribe'...which not sure if that really does work...but really...Amazon, Costco, and a few others are worth your look...some names are foreign to me, and you should proceed cautiously...right?...
The 'Civil War'...today...as them Ducks travel to Corvallis for the rights of the state in football...just wondering out loud...how long does it take to resurrect a program?...obviously, you need better players...and probably a new direction in style...4 years?...seems like OSU has had way more than that...now, it will be UO's turn...patience, ye faithful Duckees, patience...
We will have odd weather here for the next couple of days...so, it makes it real easy to decorate our condo with the joys of Xmas...the tree goes up today...we'll play some wunnerful music and take a break for the 'Civil War'....hey, it's also the Michigan and Ohio St game, too...17-14 yawner...
Another mention of a person passing...Florence Henderson...Brady Bunch mom...who resurrected her career by dancing on DWTS...get this, 8 years ago...seemed like a few at most...sure seemed like a great person...
Have to admit, it is great to come home...and see our Sammi...get back to normal...today will be a great day...hope it is for you, too...
