Stand, Kneel, or Sit

Morning kids...it's time for the Horse to address the issue of the National Anthem protest...for whatever reason...that some athletes are doing...the act has come to the forefront due to the NFL's Colin Kaepernick...a San Francisco 49er player...who chose to sit during the rendition of the anthem at the beginning of the game last month...

His stance was for the brutality of the police towards the blacks throughout the US of A...to draw attention to what he thinks is out of control...his way of showing contempt to the US, I guess...there have been instances of the revolt in times gone past...at least towards the black community...way back  in the Olympics, to start...

And since...there have been others...some citing reasons and some not...of course, there are people who believe in doing so is important...some are just copy cats...Prez O remarked that Colin was doing his constitutional right of protesting...some sports have fines in place if you do it...some do not...as is the case of the NFL...

This weekend is projected to have a number of players following suit...rumors that the entire Seattle Seahawk team will demonstrate...this angers many people...many...yes, it is a right...but is it the time and place?...one could say that the mixture of sports and politics is not a good one...

The flag has different meanings to the people of the US...tell a Vet to sit down and you will get a gnarly look and probably much more...it is a symbol of freedom and what they fought for...a rallying point...and to see a privileged pro player make a mockery of the flag and the anthem...well, that is too much to take...

Listen, there have been many reasons to protest things that this country has done...but, in the end, the ways of the US have prevailed and does represent the will of the masses...saying you are upset about something protestable is a right...but, be careful in how you do it...

So what does the Horse think?...yes, it bothers me...the playing of the anthem is a time for solidarity...not for individuality....you may have your problems, but they can be addressed and corrected...in a more appropriate time...what do you think?...

Other stuff...

Staying in the NFL...the opening game last eve was a brutally played one...as the Panthers missed a game winning FG at the buzzer...and the Broncos won...hooray!...not really...but I have an issue...at least twice during the game, there were blatant head to head hits on the Carolina QB...that should have been automatic ejections in my mind...where is the league going with this?...I thought concussions were a major point of emphasis this season...

Oh my, the AA Padres unloaded on a rookie thrower from Colorado last eve...scoring a gazillion runs...that from the worst hitting team in MLB...and gave the home "faithful" something to finally cheer about...BTW, the season ticket holders, couldn't sell off their tix to the Denver invaders...so they went themselves...looked like a real SD crowd...is that reluctantly?...ha ha...

The Beatles "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" is out today...yes, I will get it...it is a compilation of 3 concerts from the years '64 and '65...wait, were you even born yet?...do you even know who the Beatles were?...geez...

This is the month of the emergence of the highly touted iPhone 7, and 7 plus...Apple did a walk thru...yes, the earphone jack is gone...GONE!...so if you have high dollar head phones, fuggit about 'em with the new product...the plus has duo lenses for the camera...the reg 7 does not...me?...I'm gonna wait and listen to the people do their reviews...the battery is supposedly better...have not seen the price to upgrade yet...

At this point in time...I don't see why I'd switch my iPhones to the newbies...I like the earphones...I listen to my music on it...hmmm...the battery seems to last the full day...the camera is fine...why would I get it?...OK, Horse, just be patient...wait for the reviews...you may change your mini-mind...

It's a good thing that I did my double check on Maui yesterday...appeared that I hadn't got a rental car...egads...and the flight?...didn't have the TSA Pre check on it...adjustments had to be made...the hotel reservation was tight and that part muy bueno...so, we are good to go...

This North Korea dude is a piece of work...he makes everyone on edge...testing out more of his nuclear things...is he that dumb?...I think the answer is a big fat YES!...just wonder where this is gonna go...who will stop him?...that is the question of questions...

Now this...I mean THIS...is a question that needs to be put forth to the candy man and woman...right?...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... A Trial, Indeed

The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news... The unsightly attack of one of his Icetapo behemoths, on a lady in New York...taking her to the ground...an example of the uncontrolled behavior of that organization...guess that is what you call the group... simply, out of control, with NO LIMITS of force ...sad...and disgusting... The indictment of his former FBI head, James Comey ...for lying (imagine that from a legendary liar, trump) to Congress...this court case is needed for the country...to show the fallacy of the regime that is running rampant all over the land...it needs to be a BIG STAGE! ...
