Morning, kids...you following this out of Rio?...the story of the swimming foursome...you know, the one with Ryan Lochte...a gun pointed at his head...they were robbed...or were they?...he got out of there pronto...the other 3 dudes?...not so fortunate...in fact, two of them were taken off of the plane that was set to depart to the US of A...by the Brazilian Police...the other never made it to the jet...hmmm....more questions and more answers needed...kind of reminds me of that film that won the Oscar..."Argo"...OK, kind of a stretch...but not to the guys on board...

Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger were the 2...the other, Jimmy Feigen, is still there...hmmm...this is developing into a bigger story than the Olympics, right?...truth or not the truth...BTW, a Great Britain athlete was robbed last night...allegedly...the countries are telling their people to stay out of the bars and such...

Mens hoops...finally they played up to their abilities...however, not before they got a 1st Q scare from Argentina...down by 10...Coach K put his defensive guys in...and the US went on a tear...won easily...PG Irving is a huge liability...the well drilled opponents find him and go right thru him...Kevin Durant was back...as they say...had a super game...and now...Spain...definitely a formidable team...good stuff...

Lady's Oly Golf...the gal from Thailand, who I have talked about before...this season...is in the driver's seat...she hits it out of sight...and doesn't even use a driver!...3 of the US gals are in the hunt...it's only day 1 of 4...long way to go...

Fires...just east of here, close to Salt Creek GC...so impressed with the fire department!...grew to a 15 acre one...and they snuffed it out...attacked it right away with every thing they had...saved many, many homes...just not that far away from here...it is very dry, my friends...in SoCal...

You heard of the app "Periscope"...which features another way to rant on the web net...people give their viewpoints live, so to speak...not sure if I like it...kind of hard to navigate...

Lots of talk about the new iPhone 7...coming out next month...as you know, coincides with the 2 year plan that we all signed to get the iPhone 6 in our hands for a reduced rate...right?...of course, Horse is gonna get the smaller version this time...I think...even though they say that the plus version has a much better camera...the jury is still out...I won't get mine until we get back from Maui...the reviews should be there for the asking...then...

You been noticing that more and more music peops are releasing their stuff on vinyl?...problem is...it's hard to find stores that sell music anymore...most are found online...Barnes & Noble is one...that is, if you still have a turntable, like the Horse does...

Maybe today is a Del Mar day...staying home with the wife, who has been under the weather...that is a weird saying, isn't it...Pick 6 carryover...which I have never, ever, hit...costs too much to bet here in SoCal...$2 a pop...

Yesterday, I referred to the singer Scott McKenzie...terrific voice, who started with a vocal group, The Journeymen...sang like folk songs...anyway, his song "San Francisco" was a staple for that era...and didn't release a solo album 'til much later in his life...thought you'd like to know...

Finally...terrific broadcast of a Japanese American Olympic weight lifting champ story...Tommy Kono...who developed the ability in a detainment camp in Tulelake, CA...in WWII...on PBS...a must see!!!!
