Terrifying

There are times that can make you just feel awful....like what is going on in the world?...maybe more specifically, in the USA...as the terrifying and horrendous shooting of those people who are protecting us all...in Dallas, Texas...the numbers are devastating...5 killed, and 6 wounded...all cops...at first, I couldn't believe the report...and the sketchiness of it all...still...

I guess there were 4 snipers involved...?...one that was killed in a long, standoff situation...who, prior to his death...boasted about murdering...a lot...the others are in custody...with a lot of questions to be answered...it does give one the ultimate Q...are we safe in our country?...

Where do you turn for the immediate news that you want to follow?...CNN, FOX, MSNBC, or the local stations?...ABC, CBS, NBC...or do you go to the web net?...I have to tell you....I looked at all of my sources...14 that I use...all, have little more than the other...why is everyone so tight lipped?...

To finish this segment...the ongoing black and white issue of the country...is real...there has to be a meeting of the leaders to level off the ferocity of this imbalance...peace...

Other stuff...

The All Star phenomena has hit our area...with the influx of the best of the best in the biz, meeting and playing here in San Diego...I walked the area yesterday...went over to the ball park...got some paraphernalia...geez, the cost will knock your sox off...I went for the cheap thingers...a tee and a cap...good enough for Horse...

As I said yesterday, the Pads are on a path to return to better baseball...scoring like no other Padre team for that last 10 years...well, since we moved here...it could be longer...witness, the 6-0 shutout of the Bums...in LA!...could have been worse...we hit up and down the lineup...now...if we can just get another starter...or two...

The Open for the LPGA...looks like it won't be one of the big two...the pixels fixated on those two, and the big bopper of the tour, Lexi Thompson...I'm talking Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson....all are trailing by a bunch...already...well...they have 3 more rounds to get it together....

Got this memo from one of my playing partners...that the winner of the T we were in the other day...was a 16 handicapper...who shot a 74...wait?...something smells here...a true 16 normally shoots a 87 or so...what?...ha ha...well, good for him...

OK, gotta vacate the condo...I'm thinking a Starbucks breakfast is on the horizon...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
