On the other hand...horrific scene in Nice, France...allegedly another terrorist move...using a truck on a mile long killing spree...the numbers are yet again staggering...84 dead...lord, there are too many cowards on this earth...that find a way to kill...what can we do?...
And this piece of a nugget...70 miles north of Seattle...in Skaggit County...a teriyaki restaurant owner has asked the police there...to QUIT eating at his establishment...what?...the customers don't like them being there, the cops were told...hmmm...refusing of service?...of course, the web net is a blaze...there are sides to this story...kind of scary...how do you feel about it?...it won't take you long to find the article, most anywhere...and just read the comments by the people...think we don't have a divided nation?...
I'm one of the confused ones on this...the illustrious Padre GM, AJ Preller, has traded another one of our All Stars...Drew Pomeranz...for a prospect...to the Bosox...hmmmm, my son thinks it's a good move...me, not so much...as we have a severely depleted starting pitching core...Drew was our salvation...he gone...I guess the theory is that this season is lost...so let's stockpile players in the farm system for a couple (or more) years and back on the future...when we turn the corner and can really compete with the Bums and the Giants...my thinking is that the AJ will be long gone...before these "prospects" mature...
We went back to eat at our local Italian Restaurant...on 5th...we were told it was mighty tasty there, again...the last time was not good...OK, kids...the food was exemplary...our waiter said that they hired their old chef back into their kitchen...yup, it was right on good...Chianti's...you must try it...BTW, had a wonderful bottle of Pinot Noir...from Oregon's Dundee Region....
Opening Day...out at Del Mar...handicapper Andy and I are gonna figure out them nags over at Striders...our local off track...speaking of that, at the track...they are anticipating a crowd of over 40,000...you heard that right...horse racing is big in SoCal...you KNOW I'm a Pick 5 guy...the opening race is a doozy...so is the 2nd and the 3rd...egads, I just may pick 'em race by race...
All signs point to the Trump VP as Guv Mike Pence of Indiana...he was a late bloomer in the releases of the Donald's Camp...as you know, I had Newt pegged as the guy...I'm OK with this...he didn't ask me though...you maybe saw this...that one of the speakers at the Repub Convention is gonna be Ivanka...one namer, like Cher (wrong party)...Barbra (oops, wrong party, too)...Madonna ( who cares)...hey, you get my drift...
To be fair and impartial...the Demos and their candy woman, Hillary, are blazing the trail...picking just the right VP selection themselves...want Horse's pick?...mine would be Bernie...ain't no way she will pick him...no way...can she name Slick Willy?...oops, there is a rule against former Prez peops serving again...I'm confused...
