Da End of January

Hi kids!...back from the jaunt up north to Santa Barbara...and oh my...what the heck?...the bizarre happened...well, we headed back home a day early due to the rain, winds, and Tstorms that have hit the area...and postponed the tourney...we were at the point of the 3 day rule for guests...you know, we start to smell after 3...and off we went to the Amtrak station...

Lordy...big time rain...like way up north stuff...and like us, many people taking the train instead of driving the impossible freeways...these roads get slick like no other...very similar to icy conditions way up yonder...really...crowded into the business class...if you are a train virgin, there are two of them...coach and business...which costs a bit more...OK, fine...

The storm had hit all up and down SoCal...more windy type stuff further south...like from mid LA down to SD...in fact we were like 30 minutes away from downtown and....thump!...the train hit something...hmmm...my fear was a person...nope...it was  a tree!...an eucalyptus had fallen over the tracks...and THUMP...we dragged to a halt....nervous anxiety hit us all...

The loudspeaker came on with the voice assuring us of what had happened...since we were in the 1st car, we bolted to the windows to see what the heck...the smell of the tree permeated the train...surrounding us was the fallen!...they warned us that we may be off the tracks and to stay calm and seated...fat chance...long story short...they chainsawed us out...we were on our way after over an hour...whew!...

The trek was not over...the high winds had closed much of San Diego down...lost power...when we have the high winds, it will affect the high rises immensely...shut down the elevators...we had one out of 4 running...egads...up to 60+ mph winds...believe me, I almost got blown over walking Sammi at like about 9 pm...crazy...

Well now...had a drink or two...settled in to watch the "Grease Live" show...that bloody FOX station, again...trying to make amends for the Meghan Kelly fiasco...trying another blonde to throw at us, Julianne Hough...as the star, portraying Sandy...you know, it reminded me so much of the recently completed series of "Glee"...which was far superior to this...they had real singers and all...

My take?...not bad...I think it would have been better to have it in the play version...not have the fake crowds...er, audience...I give it a C+...however, it does tickle me to watch the movie of it again...Travolta and Newton John...who just can't be topped...

Off we go to Iowa...and the bloody caucuses...ha ha...the voters have to be in by 7pm...their time...and the doors are shut...no exceptions...they don't come out until they have a quorum...coercion is at it's highest level...I think there are like 2,000 of 'em...out of this will come our first look at who actually are getting the votes...

This will be an interesting day...you know, this is a fun one...the candy men and women will be trying to do their thang one last time...I do lurve it...who is gonna be a squirming?...I have my ideas...ha ha...

Do I have a Blu-ray version of it?...gotta look...

Star your February out right...smile...

BREAKING NEWS...the Farmer's Ins Tourney out at Torrey Pines is to finish today, after the final round was suspended cuz of this weather...and NO FANS OR VOLUNTEERS are allowed to attend...too dangerous...what?...
