Back To Normal
The final season of American Idol started up this week...and the producers interlaced nostalgia throughout...doesn't seem that long ago, that Kelly Clarkson, was tabbed as THE American Idol...and so it went...with all of it's cute parts, and it's frustrating ones...the judging, which brought about the negative as a positive...well...it made Simon Cowell a household name...and rich...and he was bigger than the singing...interestingly, he isn't mentioned much now...and the secretive voting process...my bugaboo...but...it did bring us one of the best singers in the world, Carrie Underwood...
So off we go onto the journey...it is a cool premise...and this set of judges have been retained...JLo, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick (jr)...the shows were fun...the talent seems real young...and we will watch them grow...last season I was bored with it...so far, am feeling the opposite...
Powerball...you buy these?...it's going bonkers...it's like up to $700 million...your odds are off the chart...however, for a mere $2 ( I think)...you, too, could become rich rich rich...that is of course, after taxes...for me, the odds are better to win the Pick 6 at Santa Anita...hmmm...but not for the amount that is being raffled off...late breaking, Powerball is up to $800 million...
Your boy, the Donald...is staying stable at up 17% over the next bloke, Rafael (Ted) Cruz...and the other side is down to two...Hilz and Bernie...with her having the lead...ho hum...time for some real debacle to surface...I feel it...
After giving my pix for the playoffs yesterday, I gandered at the pundits version...they were similar...I have 3 visitors winning...never a safe choice...and am betting against the Skins...let's be serious here, I could miss all 4...and the champ game?...solid pick...and probably boring...
Now, for some real humor...the Trib was giving it's grade for the departing Charger Organization...today...and it's a hoot, kids...like giving the crew of the Titanic an evaluation right before it sank...the ownership is a joke and pathetic...and thus, everything beneath them is so far below acceptable levels, that it has to be awful to work for them...they fired 6 asst coaches, and yet retained the head coach...these are blokes he brought in...has he no shame?...run, don't walk, Carson...
The stock market...a bit of a rebound...talked to my money man, Jon..."hang in there" was the advice...there will be a jump...if anyone has a clue, you are da man...no clue...
I have the best deal of all for our annual stay in Maui...they have given me the same rate for the last 10+ years...I commit to 2 weeks...in September...love that place...you know, maybe we will look at 6 month leases there...hmmm...
The Golden Globes was an absolute joke...without a doubt, the worst of all of these odious award shows...how do I really feel?...OOOOOOPS...major flaw in this...thanks Sis Jill for the head's up...it was the People's Choice Awards...still awful...
Too bad our tee time isn't today...it's beautiful...
