Before I go on this rant...know that I was watching a most entertaining NFL game...on Sunday Nite...in the driving snow in Colorado...the game, not me...where the Pats of NE were striving to stay unbeaten...and the defensive minded Broncos were itching to show why they should be considered in the upper tier...and were using the former ASU QB as their new starter...Unfortunately, a trend has been appearing in these games...mysterious and downright blatant pass interference calls are being made by the back judges...that affect the outcome...unknown refs that get free calls...hmmm...there is a whole lot of cash being BET on these...hidden at times under the point spread nonsense...
Denver was the recipient of two such flags...and the turnaround...where penalties should have been thrown for the Patriots, were not...the teams can't voice their opinions on this...they have to be fuming...fearing fines and suspensions by the league...itself in doubt over their questionable management...right?...
This is not the first time I have witnessed the shenanigans...as I have written about this more than ever this season...something is going on, kids...hang on to your $ if you are one of those bettor dudes...there is something mighty fishy going on...
Football in itself is a huge money maker...look at the collegiates...where the "Bowl Bids" are in itself a school saving financial necessity...and, in fact, if your team doesn't get one...there is a good chance that your coach will get the heave ho, and will get a high dollar severance pay...and you will hire a new bloke to get YOU to the promise land...don't even think that I am telling you a fib...
The "Bid" has in it, 40 such "Bowls" now...really?...80 teams make it...what?...there used to be a 6 game must win clause...ha ha...not enough good programs won that many this year...so guess what?...they have to bend the rules...you see, many of these "Bowls" have contracts with certain conferences...and where there are other schools who have met the criteria, they will be passed over for teams with only 5 wins...ah yes, you think it's not about the $?...
Seems as ridiculous as some states have put every high school team in their playoffs...every team...egads...I dunno...where are all the highly paid administrators?...I mean on all levels?...have you no shame?...somewhere in the marriage of athletics and academics there is a stumbling block...and the people who should know, cower to the almighty dollar....
Well, Horse, has just ranted a good one...and unfortunately...the culprit is not so well hidden...the money...there are ways to get at it...numerous methods...and it's all under the guise...of football...
OK, just click me off...and hit "Cyber Monday"...and find yourself some presents to buy with your MONEY...that is, if you have any left...after losing it on your NFL wagers...As Roberto Duran said, "No Mas!"...
