Dilemma

It's the afternoon...and CH is finished with his round of golf...seriously, I have a little break thru in my game...mum...right now...but...it started in Maui...and I  used it here...hmmm...promise on the horizon?...

Anyway...as the roast is in the oven, I have some time to talk...and the topic might be a tad bit out there for you females...maybe not...as it may apply to other sports...maybe to gals something...but you guys, it's right on...and will spark your brain...maybe you don't give a damn...

I have gone round and round about this...when the player can play pro ball...in this case football...it takes 3 years out of high school to qualify now...popped up when the RB out of LSU has been considering NOT PLAYING his 3rd year...so as to not get injured and injure his chances at making big bucks in the NFL...hmmm...

There are those who think that the time spent in college is a great time to mature...prior to making the big step...and unlike in basketball, where it's but one year in college...or wherever...and then the player can jump to the NBA...apparently it takes more time to do so, for football...

This magic age thing has been around for some time...take for instance, the service...at 18, one can go away from home...join up...learn to fire a gun...and go on to defend the country...and, yet, is not able to drink a beer...what?...somehow, the soldier is mature enough to kill for his or her country, but not mature enough to have a bubbly...hmmm...legally...

So, where are you on this?...seems to me...that the way the collegiate game is now...where the recruiting is out of control...and the amounts of $ are crazy....look at the Oregon Ducks...with all the support and money following this team...notice, I didn't say school...

Recruiting...supposed to be monitored by the NCAA...and yet...the punishments that are handed out can be very confusing...just out...that the elder gentleman, the hoop coach...SMU's Larry Brown...got fingered...banished for a while...the school's team can't play in the post season...for him, he can't coach for a bit...hmmm...

He's been at a number of schools...and almost every one of them, he left in shambles...recruiting violations...the school gets hit...and he moves on...and repeats the procedure...what a farce...

OK, I've strayed...back to football...imagine if the pros could sign kids out of high school...at the magic age of 18...regardless of where he is playing...would this not put a dent into the collegiate game?...or maybe, even kill it?...

You see, it's all about the money...when the player can get it...let's be honest....there have been countless times that players have been paid under the table, so to speak...think back to the Heisman Trophy winner, out of USC...Reggie Bush...got a house for his parents...and on and on...

Happens everywhere...talk about comingling....so...why not just sign them when they are ready?...you know...I just don't think that many would  be taken that early...face it, it's a brutal sport...and the Pros are huge human beings...

Where did this start?...back with this LSU guy....to qualify for the big bucks, he may sit out...I dunno...I'm just talking...that's all...

Home schooling...what on earth?...I mean the K Fam kids got that...by Kris?...oh my...right...imagine their education...well, they did right (write) a book...I digress...

There are a lot folks this day that can't afford to go to college...when it costs $40 grand a year...you are telling me that all these football kids get by, due to these scholarships?...the schools and their teams...hmmm...

OK...here's my take...if the guys and gals can be soldiers at 18, so can the players be pros....at the same age...

If you can vote...you can do the rest of it...OK, I tickled ya...give it back to me...
