Morning kids...a trip back into time today on this good Friday...when we first made a trip to this city, SAN DIEGO, to stay for a bit...it was a RCI exchange for our Sunriver property...a week...we did that sort of thing a lot...it was way cool...actually went all over the country using that benefit...anyway...

It was the time that the baseball park was in it's initial stages in downtown...there wasn't any of these high rises that you see now...in fact, we looked at plans for one being built that looked right into that piece of land, that was to be the now, Petco Park...we determined that it was way too steep for our pockets...seems like we were talking around 2000...there about...

5th Street was wonderful...like it is now...many of the same restaurants and bars...and we were thrown back at the ease of walking all over the place...remember having a cigar at one of them...an Italian spot...and marveled at the Island of Coronado...BTW, that's where we did go yesterday on a short jaunt...

We finally decided to up our livability scene...and were going to check out places to buy, so we could be "rainbirds"...live in the nice weather when it was a raining back in Orygun...and decided on 3 spots...here, Las Vegas, and Scottsdale...we wanted a site that there was the walkability factor...maybe the high rise feature...

We had NO IDEA that San Diego had built UP...no idea...and were blown away at the change we had seen from just a few years back...the other 2 places had plans for this...but were years away...and BTW, Palm Springs was out...way too hot...and settled on a spot right on 5th...gave a bottom type offer...and got it...and the rest is H-I-S-T-O-R-Y!...best thing we ever did...and now, we live here permanently...

Stuff...

The Pads got drilled by Pitt last eve...Buddy Ball...as he left his starter in when he obviously didn't have it...gave up a 3 run dinger in the first...and was roughed up for 7 early on...of course, that's the game...and I never can understand the "save the bullpen" nonsense...get him out...and give the team a chance to win...use the bloke who is designated for long term relief...instead, they just decide the game is a goner, and leave the starter in...booo....

Your best player in the world goes home to play a T in his homeland...Rory McIlroy...and promptly shows the locals why he's numero uno...wait...NO!...he shoots a hacking 80...what?...a pro doing this?...oh my...golf can be a brutal game, my good friends...even for the best in the world...

The Chi-town Bulls decided enough already for it's head coach...and fired the dude...widely renowned for his no nonsense approach to the game...pro hoops...and did so in such a fashion that they printed the reasons...problem is, that's what they did for their prior coach...too...rumors of fisticuffs on that dismissal...maybe, just maybe, not a good place to be "the boss"...

Of course you know who Jerry Seinfeld is...but his wife...has been making waves on her cooking books...and we were in Coronado walking the streets...went into their book store...one of our favs...and purchased one of hers...it appears to be real nice...and will try the recipes...always need ideas for preparing food...a different way...ah hem, pictures...

Found a new restaurant there...Leroys...right on Orange...and the food was wonderful...great presentation...maybe there is stuff like that in that Seinfeld book...right?...

I know I keep going with this...but how come there is no other Demo than Hillary in the mix for Prez?...I mean, c'mon...folks...there has to be others qualified...there has to be...

Amtrak is on our list to travel up north to Santa Barbara...see the kids...and get our teeth cleaned...really like the ride...sit back and travel through LA without the stress of the highway...never easy driving though there...

Imperial Beach...we drove through there yesterday...really liked it...however, the problem just may be...it is just north of Tijuana...where they have little restrictions on how they deal with waste...and there are issues thereof...you know what I mean...

You understand the FIFA thing?...the world soccer dudes who allegedly took bribes...and somehow, the Russians are coming to their defense...what?...I always wonder about the many College Football Bowls...and the amounts of $ that go to those "officials"...sure smells to me...

How do we like the new car?...it is unbelievable...and am so happy with it...in case you are asking...
