Aloha

Yup, we finally went to a flick...in the movie house...and yup, we have the same thoughts as before...how in the world can the structures stay in business?...we were but 8 of us in the theater...anyway...it cost us $31 for the seats plus a bag of popcorn and a diet coke...hmmm...

The positive?...all the freedom to sit where you want...and the humongous screen...and the fantastic sound...that is propelled all over the place...way cool...and...we loved the movie..."Aloha"...which has been getting panned by the "experts"...not so, by us...

Three main characters...portrayed by Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Rachel McAdams...for you serious Horse followers, you KNOW how I feel about the latter...anyway...the flick is based in Hawaii...and for the love of, well, you know...the scenery itself is worth the price of admission...

The negative?...the cost of it all...what I normally do...is buy the bloody thing for $20...when it comes out in Blu-ray...however, the theater thing is dang good...shoot, maybe it's worth it after all...

Other...

The Pads came back and got game 2 versus the Pirates...after our C Norris was saddled with his worst ever day at the plate...4 straight strike outs...K's...SO's...whiffs...the golden sombrero...he was up with the bases loaded...in the bottom of the 9th...game tied...and he hit a dinger...walk off...grand salammy, cleared the bases...and was the HERO...from the goat to that...and jubilation...

Guess what...the Park has had a number of things held there...like the latest (other than baseball) was the Rolling Stones...Taylor Swift is coming next...and...now...a hoops game between the Aztecs and USD...December 5...I may go to this one...

Get this...I sent my sick Tree wood, to get it fixed by Callaway...and it came back in ONE DAY!...I was shocked at the quickness of it all...really?...yup, it took one day...sent it out late Wednesday...and it was in Friday...well, I guess that's 2...anyway, talk about service!...of course, the plant is in Carlsbad...but still...

You actually think that Terrific Tom Brady will be sat for 4 games next season for his role in Deflategate?...guess again kids...his "appeal" is set for June 23...and he is taking most of the snaps for the Pats during the pad free workouts that is going on all over the NFL world, er, camps...figure it will be reduced to one or two...

I have been bringing up an idea for the guys...a bloke trip to Nashville in October...to watch Mariota in action for Tennessee...to sip the areas whiskey...and to go to the hot spots of the country world singing bars...you interested?...BTW, you know that on the Makers Mark bottle, they spell it whisky?...apparently, according to Webstirs, it can be spelled either way...really?...er, realy?...

FIFA re-elected the same guy...Sepp Blatter...what?...talk about meaningless thoughts for Horse...especially cuz I find the sport incredibly boring...gooooaaaalllll....

Another week until American Pharaoh gives it's bid for the Triple Crown...does he have a chance?...the longest of all the races...it's been decades since it has happened...

We have a found a new go to Italian restaurant...we used to have La Strada...it closed...and now...it's Chianti...outstanding...great wine list...and even better food...way good...on 5th...

Road trip, kids...gotta get a packing...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
