Top of the Morning

Good morning!...it's been a couple of days...I know...playing golf and all...pushing my cart is hard for an oldster...ha ha...the weather has been fantastic...and have been out in it....so...what's been a shaking?...

The Blazers beat up on the Spurs...in PDX...Port had all their blokes...and it showed...Mathews and the French Kid, Batum... had wonderful games...and the type of D they play fits perfectly against SA...who does not have great outside shooting...in fact, they are aging badly...and are now just that...an old team...and on their way down...so says me...

The Clip Joint got beat at Houston...both teams are missing key guys...but...the Rockets have the Beard...and the Clips have PG Paul...one is dang good and one is way over-rated...guess...

This horrible guy who has been the main killer in the mid east...has been fingered as a former Londoner..."Jihadi John"...unbelievably well educated...just a matter of time now...he will get his due...

There is no stopping the Cavs...they only have the Hawks in the east...as Chi town lost their PG Rose again...the wild wild west is just that...can make a case for 4 teams...and watch out for the Thunder...

Another week and the Pads kick off their Cactus League...we are so excited...and that's real...funny thing about baseball...there is always extreme optimism in the spring...all teams go through this...btw, there is talk about reducing the regular season from 162 to 154 games...hmmm...trying find a way to get over to Phoenix and take in some games...

Can somebody tell Madonna she is no longer 25...I mean c'mon...

All my shows have kicked off...Idol, Survivor, and Amazing Race...and I have taped 'em...have not watched yet...too busy, watching hoops...

The Bolts...lordy...not sure what is happening...but the ploy of Carson has the "task force" speeding up their local find to a third of the time allotted...hmmm...so many Q's...one thing for certain, the Ram's owner has the go ahead for the former site of the old race track, Hollywood Park...LA Rams just a few years away...

Get this...we have the ongoing issue of our heat pump...was to be finally fixed yesterday...not so fast, my friends...seems that when the unit was put in the building, they built the walls after they were put into place...thus, if you want to replace the unit, or get into it...you have to take down a part of the wall!...I am not making this up...so, we have to find a drywall guy first and well, last...what a crock...

Part of the big picture of being a head coach in college...you don't win enough, and the sports writers deem themselves as experts and call for your firing...such is an issue for the USD's hoop coach, Bill Grier...as one of the Trib's guys, did just that this am...put it in print...eegads...

The recruitment process ( which is the aforementioned problem of Grier) has reached a new crescendo...as the 10 yr old son of LeBron James is already getting props...what?...

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
