Carson Chargers

Bombshell news...as the combo owners of the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers have secretly paired up big bucks and bought land in La La land...specifically in Carson...with the intent of building a football stadium that they will share...been in the works for over 9 months...

Here in SD, the owners of the Bolts, have been playing a cat and mouse game with the mayor...suggesting that if the right deal came along, that the club MAY be in...well, in the last couple of months, the dialog cooled...and the ownership seemed almost belligerent...of course, they were...they had an alternative site in their bag...

The NFL must have known these shenanigans all along...and like other pathetic judgments or non-judgments, the league goes on it's merry way...and does whatever it damn well pleases...doesn't surprise me much...there is no stopping it's domination...don't get too attached to your team, kids...

I recall back when we moved down here, I was mesmerized by the faithful following of this football team...rich in tradition of the old AFL success...and just how many crazies had bolts everywhere...but the common man is totally dependent on the affluent...and the owners (the same)...AND...they don't share the same passion...they have their agenda...the almighty dollar...er, billions of 'em...and if there is a bigger and better deal out there...they'll take their tinkertoy and move on...

Yes, I will miss the Chargers...but I will not miss the ownership of this franchise...don't let the door kick you in the arse...on your way out of town...

The NBA is back up and running after a week shut down...included in that was flurry of trades...the Heat got the bros from Phoenix...well, one set of them...which puts them back in the hunt in the east...PDX made one with the Nuggets, who by the way, were real active...not sure how it helped the Blazers...for the most part, a lot of movement for the backup guys of the teams...blah blah blah...

Horse remains stoic...in the east, Cleveland and Atlanta...in the west, Golden St and the healthy Rockets...long shots are the Spurs, Bulls, and the Thunder (Supersonics)....fuggit about all the rest of 'em...ie, PDX...no proper D...I digress...

LA Open...of all people, Retief Goosen in the lead....what?...an oldie but goodie...last week in the early hunt was John Daly...a trend?...can these blokes last 4 rounds?...doubts...

Here's the Q...which is better?...a Vanagon or a Class B RV?...we will kick back into the hunt next week...you can make a case for each...plan on renting one for a 3 day getaway and judge for ourselves...

The top 2 in the NFL combine...QB's Winston and Mariota...will work out for this odious event to show their talents...not that they didn't just get doing it for their entire college careers...think I'm not cynical on this league and it's leaders?...something smells to the levels of Netarts...when the tide is out...
