The PLOT thickens

It just may take some investigative reporters like, Woodward and Bernstein...to solve this intriguing story out of NE...find their "Deep Throat"...sure, it's only the headlines out of all America...even the peops who don't know if the balls are pumped or ...well, you get my drift...it's the news everywhere...who, what, when, or why...well, we know why...

Deflategate...

A silly little thing like letting some air out of the footballs prior to the game versus the Colts...the New England Patriots...11 of the 12 balls that they were issued...found to be altered at halftime of the game...and another set of 12 were used for the 2nd half...

The match itself was a blow out...and the Pats even scored more in the latter part of the game...with the properly inflated balls...but the cast was done...there was intent to alter the rules...and to their advantage...whatever it takes...

OK, it happens all the time, you might say...take for instance in the National Pastime of baseball...where the latest is the roids, rampantly used in this past decade...or the pitchers who scuff up the ball...or other nasty things...or in golf, an improper drop...or bribing a ref...the list goes on...

But, this most mundane of all things...seems to have the caught the eye of ALL the country...started out as a little comment...by a TV bloke...and BAM!...it grew and grew...

Cheaters!...you see, the Pats have history...got fined by the NFL for illegally videoing an opponent's signs they used for their games...study them so they can have an edge...same coach and same team...hmmm...so...here comes another issue...the doctoring of the balls...

Billy B (the coach) and Tom Terrific (the QB) claim ignorance...in a series of interviews to the press...which just might have appeared to be staged quite nicely by them...they basically said the same thing...didn't know about it...they didn't do it...and didn't know who did it...nor did they authorize such a dastardly thing...hmmm...

Countless former pro QB's had another take...as everyone of them who were queried had the same response...that they themselves felt and used every ball prior to the game...it was their tool for success...the football...and they MADE SURE the balls were the ones they wanted...hmmm...

OK, let's follow the logic of the Pats...the balls were altered...the upper part of the staff and QB had no knowledge  as to whom did it...mystery...which leaves us with the equipment guy...who has to be shaking in his shoes right now...he, on his own, let air out of the balls...cuz, he thought that it would help his team win...all on his own...

So...where do go from here?...do you fine someone?...fire someone?...suspend someone?...what is the NFL going to do?...looks like they just want it to go away...which it will not...

Breaking...the NFL is investigating the issue...using a crack team of lawyers...er, spies...and rest assured, this will be settled in a way that only benefits the league...and the game goes on...if it were up to me...which it is not...the Patriots would have to forfeit their win to the Colts...and giddyup, the Indy team would need to congregate back in a hurry to face the Hawks...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
