Special People

It's Martin Luther King's Day...a holiday for all...one of a very few special people in my time...I say that more of a remembrance of what people told us...as there was little immediate television available back then...as his life was cut short...however, his movement on racial equality was unique and was the most critical part of it...

It was in my ungovernable times of college, that he was gunned down...this era was filled with combustible moments...the Vietnam war was raging...people were protesting in the streets all across the nation, let alone on most of the college campuses...another special person, RFK, was to fall by the way of an assassin...think about that...just a few years after his brother, Pres JFK, was gunned down...imagine the state of government...or the state of the Kennedy Family...hmmm...

Equality...I'm not sure this will ever happen...but, it's a goal...I never could understand the reason for those who objected to it...the color of your skin is a problem...to whom?...and why?...

OK, the stuff I mostly write about...

I will say the most bizarre finish to an NFL game was that of the Seahawks and the Pack...as from the doldrums of defeat, the Hawks persevered...scoring at will, when it was near impossible for them for 95% of the fray...I think the key to it...was when the Pack intercepted the ball with about 5 minutes to go...and the bloke slid down, in lieu of taking it back for a TD...he thought that time and their O could run out the clock, I guess...they were celebrating...and then...BOOM!...crazy...

The other game was not one...as the Colts and their young QB, looked out of sorts...and over-matched...as the Pats waltzed through, yet another rain swept win...think that LaGarrette Blount is fun to tackle?...former Duck...not sure why the brain trust of NE left their fragile QB Brady out there so long...and there is an article about the Pats deflating the balls used...what?...only their's?...not sure what that is all about...I could say something pretty crass about Tom Brady right now...won't do it...

Anyway, it's Seattle and New England in the sooper bowl...

I love Downton Abbey...but I must say, there are times I have no clue to the dialog...I turn up the sound...and still can't figure out what some of the blokes are saying...

I'm still in debate about changing universal remotes...any of you out there swear by the one you have?...

I chose to bet on this hoss at Santa Anita...Indian Monkey...wait, should that have been, Native Monkey?...these blokes who name their horses...must all be from across the pond...had to be in reference to India, right?...oh yea, by the way, it was a winner...

Did you know when Congress passed in to law, MLK as a holiday, one of those who voted against it, was none other than a Congressman out of Arizona, John McCain?...when he ran for Prez, he apologized...hmmm...

Shortly, it is said that 1% of the world richest people will own what the rest of us will...combined...you think that is diff in this country?...hmmm...

Mitt Romney is positioning himself for yet another run at Prez...really?...immediately, he may be the Repub front runner...sorry, Jeb, but it's true...

Why did San Diego have their MLK Parade yesterday, on Sunday?...

Only in the Miss Universe contest...it is a contest, right?...Miss Lebanon (you PNWers, not Orygun) and Miss Israel posted a selfie...together...hey, it's a start...

Seems to me, we should all strive for equality...right?...
