Game Day

I believe it's been 9 times that ESPN's Game Day has been at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Orygun...that's a bunch...and today they were there again...as the Ducks host the Spartans of Mich St...the dahlings of the East Coast scribes...the line is 12 1/2...and disregarding the betting blokes, a couple of the GD Boyz picked MSU...duh..

Kirk Herbstreit, the OSU (Ohio type) grad, had put the Spartans as one of his top 4 for the season...in his early pix...so, he had to pick 'em...some young dude did, too...the one with a chip on his shoulder...ha ha...the guys on Around The Horn all had the Ducks...it's just guessing, kids...and that's what makes it fun...

In reality, iff the Spartans can control the clock and possession of the ball, they have a great chance of the W...some stuff...95* favors speed...and the big kids will suffer...and need breaks...the Duck O gives you none...I see UO winning and covering the spread...usually people worry about the rain in the PNW, and this is 180* diff...

More Ryder Cup...Lefty pulled himself out of the latest T to rest up for it...ha ha...he was floundering. like he has for some time...and another of the pix, Keegan Bradley, did too...something about an imbedded ball?...a highly questionable selection anyway...this is the worst team that the US has had for some time...another dude, Walker, won early...got the leg up...when a lot of the biggees didn't even enter...he's not on the elite level...it's a slam dunk, kids...the Euros way tuffer...

The Pads are back to playing miserably...no punch... and now the pitching and D has fallen off...throw in the injured SS Cabrera, ran into the law again...DWI...a mess...and you tell me...what is needed?...

Just read back this thus far...too negative...

Watching Army beat up on Buffalo... why the interest?...a couple of the Charger rooks are from the Buff program...just curious, that's all...lordy, the Cadets make a lot of penalties under this new system...

One of the first peops we got to know down here in SD, is moving to the LA beach scene...so we met up for a good bye drink or two last eve...Lee B...actually lived right next door to us at the Gaslamp City Square...by the way, the condo prices keep rising in the hood...go figure...

Congrats to one of Cris's best buds...and a CH reader and follower, Joel Alley...as he and his wurman have just had a baby!...very cool...

Speaking of the Beavs (Joel's school), they should trounce the Rainbows...if not...then it's time to...well, you know my feelings...

And SDSU...a big time dog to North Carolina...I have this gut feeling that the Aztecs are going to be in the mix...

9 days 'til Maui...can't wait...we always go for our anniversary...this is number 40...hmmm...and for all you doubters...ha ha...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
